NEWS FROM ANTIWORLD / TECHNOWORLD PROMOTER
http://www.antiworld.net/indexmain-download.html

We are honoured to be the first UK club to be invited to take part in Europe's biggest dance music street parade - which takes place in rotterdam on Saturday August 14th.

It's gonna be an amazing experience for everyone who witnesses this spaecatcle - 400,000 people, over 40 sound systems on trucks - including Antiworld - will make their way to a park for a huge after-parade party which features 5 music area's and a main stage on which D.A.V.E The Drummer will represent Antiworld by playing the opening set before an appearance by DAVE CLARKE, among others.

This party will finish at 11pm. From here there are a number of parties being organised - whether Antiworld host a venue is up to you...
Due to the difficulty in finding accommodation and the strict clean up operation which commences from midnight - the streets are cleaned with high pressure water hoses and rubbish trucks get busy - so we have been requested to p[rovide a travel package for our supporters.
It's important that you support us by joining our group for the following
reasons:

1. We have to prove we have a group large enough to justify organising a club night from midnight & taking over a bar on Sunday lunchtime.

2. We have to show the organisers that UK clubbers are interested in visiting Rotterdam in order for us to continue this participation in future- we can only illustrate how many people have visited the parade by the number of beds we fill.

3. Flights and accommodation will become scarce and expensive - our package is very competitively priced - and includes accommodation which is on the parade route, centrally located and next to an imported beach and has free internet access and in house movies! THIS IS NOT HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION.

4. Hotels always get full as the parade approaches - and there are instances of double bookings - as the hotels have been known not to hold reservations for late arrivals from overseas.

5. 79 pound package - We offer a package aimed at independant travellers - which costs just 79 pounds - and includes Saturday night accommodation in the Antiworld Hotel) & ticket for after-parade party & Antiworld party on Sunday & Coffee shop guide ( based on 4 people sharing a room - for two people sharing a room add ten pounds.

Other options include:
Option A - 149 pounds
Full travel package - includes return coach & high speed ferry from London-Rotterdam, 2 nights accomm in 3 star Antiworld Hotel (based on 4 sharing a room) - located opposite beach & parade route & ticket for parade after-party & Antiworld party on Sunday, plus guide to Coffee & Smart shops
Independent traveller Options Make your own way to Rotterdam and hook up with us over there -

Option B - 99 pounds
Weekend option (includes Fri & Sat night accomm) , ticket for after-parade party & Antiworld party on Sunday & Coffee Shop guide.

Option A - 149 pounds
Full travel package - includes return coach & high speed ferry from London-Rotterdam, 2 nights accomm in 3 star Maritime Hotel (based on 4 sharing a room) - located opposite beach & parade route & ticket for parade after-party & Antiworld party on Sunday, plus guide to Coffee & Smart shops
We hope you'll join us on the Friday night - as we party our way across the north sea on the Worlds Largest High Speed Ferry - just over 3 and a half hours and we'll be in Holland!

  The Youngsters Gilles Escoffier, also known as Gil le Gamin, is a DJ since 1988. In 1993 he becomes involved in national events ( MCM Night, Dragon Ball, D.Mention...). In 1995 he opens his own record shop, Z'Appies Records in Montpellier, and start to produce his own music alongside Ultracolor, another rising artist who later establishes Scandium Records. Whilst performing abroard for the first time ( Spain, Switzerland, Canada...), Gil forms an event-organizing entreprise in 1997 - Happy People at Work - and coordinates about twenty major envents in the south of France in the space of two years... In 1998 he establishes his own label G-Funk, and after his encounter with Olivier M the adventure of The Youngsters begins under that same label.

Olivier Mateu, also known as Olivier M was introduced to music at the age of 6, when he started classical piano lessons. By the end of the 80's he becomes familiar with the electronic sounds of Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Cure, Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre...and it's revelation : these sounds and the way they are created mix music and science - his two equally deep passions - perfectly. Olivier starts trying out his first synthesizer on his own in the begginning of 1990 and, at the same time, discovers LFO, Inner City, Laurent Garnier and other pioneers of "electronic groove"...he then takes a close interest in alternative and experimental music through the work of Pierre Henry or Staukhausen, and there he discovers ways and mathods of manipulating raw and revolutionary sound effect that will influence him deeply enven today. This is how, for several years, he works his way up to his first productions, in his student bedsite along with a very rudimentary musical equipment.
In 1999 he encounters Gil in his record shop and lets him listen to some of his work. The chemistry is right, and they start working together at once. Their first, "Deep Inside", title is G-Funk's third production, and it's a big success - thanks to the support of a number of international DJ's.

This promising success is used by the two musicians to develop the label and to express their deep and mutual love for techno originating from Detroit. In this music their respective influences perfectly combine cold electronic groove and warm soul. The following title ensue : "Sampler EP", "In Charly We Trust EP", "A Different Theory EP", under the label G-Funk, and "Three hours in Barcelona EP", on the french label Tekmics.

Their live performances also contribute to their growing success, by allowing them to communicate their music to the audience. These concerts combine all the heat and energy of "rock" concerts, with atmospheres, rythms and perfectly re-mastered electronic colors.

During 2000, afetr meeting Laurent Garnier, they start working on another project, trying to find new artistic directions and expanding their horizons to other more "down-tempo" styles. They then contact and sign-up with the label F-Communications, the first french label of electronic music.

This represents a turning point in their career, and one witch allows them to reach a wider audience with their music, a series of EPs ( "Spanish Harlem EP", "Illogique EP", "End EP", "Abusive Melody EP" ), videos, and an album in 2001 "LemonOrange" in witch we discover other aspects of their talent.

They appear in all the main international events such as the Sonar Festival in Barcelona, 10 Days Of Techno in Belgium, T in the Park in Scotland, Time Warp in Germany...as well in renowned clubs : The End and Fabric in London, The Rex ant the 4Sans in France, The Zouk in Singapore, The Arches in Glasgow, Florida 135 in Spain, Cream in Liverpool...

At the moment, Gil & Olivier are working together on several different projects : a serie of EPs, "Confidential Music Vol.1 & 2", a new album for 2003, a mixed CD as well as other more alternative projects...keep an eye out !

Renato Cohen is without doubt one of Brazil's most high profile techno producers and DJs. Though he's been an established name on the Brazilian club circuit for years and has released numerous ground breaking records,Renato deservedly hit the international spotlight in 2002 with the enormous 'Pontape', which was rapidly signed up
by Intec. A record that refuses to stop, it continues to sell around the world to this day.

Renato's original take on techno has always had it's own flavour and today more then ever it's a sound sought after
by international DJs like Laurent Garnier, Technasia, DJ C1, Dave Clarke , Funk D'Void and Carl Cox to name a few.
At a time when Brazil is establishing itself as a leading global dance music market, Renato is firmly part of a selected group of Brazilian producers.

Renato Cohen was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1974 and he has been producing since 1996. With no peer group to learn from in Sao Paulo, Renato has created his own unique sound through hard work and a love for studio equipment.

His background as a drummer has been instrumental in his ability to create infectious rhythms within his music.
He has recently released on such fine labels as Sino and Noise Music and is already working on further releases for Intec.

"Forget The Sex Pistols. The bands that came before and after - Bauhaus, The Ruts, The Damned and UK Subs - made timeless music. It came from the heart."
Dave Clarke
Techno pioneer Dave Clarke has always mined the edges of the mainstream for his explorations into speaker-bustin' dance music. The one-time hip hop and soul DJ spun hip hop deep into the mix of his 1996 debut Archive One, but on his second album Devils Advocate, he's digging even deeper."The heart and soul of my record, and the heart and soul of all the music I've ever loved is darkness and attitude,"he says. Hence the flinty hip hop, filthy electro and bass-heavy post-punk that is wound around techno and house throughout the new record - released on Brighton's Skint Records. "I was about nine years old when The Ruts and The Damned were about and I got the records. They're still references for me now. 'Machine Gun Etiquette' by The Damned is still one of my favourite albums of all time. And I loved the way Bauhaus was gothy cool, not over-goth. I was very into that."

The 'gothy cool' of Bauhaus's 'She's In Parties' has been resurrected on a stand-out album track with some vocal assistance from Berlin's favourite daughters, Chicks On Speed. "It's a new song, written around the hook 'she's in parties'" says Dave. "And we had a great time recording it." Clarke first met the Chicks seven years ago at the infamous Ultraschall club. "I was pretending to be the doorman, people'd be coming up to me saying (mock German accent) "Ven is Dave Clarke on?" We had a few drunken nights out with DJ Hell and Upstart, drinking Cognac and bourbon, going to 80's soul clubs and playing chess. It sounds terribly communistic, doesn't it?"
His connection with the art-edge of electro doesn't stop there. In 2001, Clarke released the World Service compilation, featuring a still unbeaten new-school electro tracklisting. Hacker, Fischerspooner and Adult. were all present and correct, some time before Trendy London caught on. "There were loads of compilations that came out, six, twelve, even eighteen months later, all with a very similar tracklisting. It pissed me off. At that time, there was so much exciting music coming out and it wasn't being serviced by DJs or radio or the press." Obviously, the record-buying public agreed and they sold 70,000 copies.

So will we be seeing Dave Clarke behind the decks at art-fashion electro clubs like Nag Nag Nag soon? "I've got nothing to do with that scene," says Clarke. "I find it really funny that I was one of the first DJs to bring attention to this music and I've never been asked to play in those clubs. I prefer League of Gentlemen clubs anyway, local clubs for local people." Although he will be taking the heavy sounds of Devil's Advocate live, debuting his set at Creamfields. "It'll be me doing my thing, but in a punky live way.

Devil's Advocate is an adrenalised album, cherry-picking the best of the last three decades and hammering it into a record laden with funk, groove and attitude. Take highlight 'Dirtbox' a totally rudeboy, death-disco moment with a narcotic bassline to knock your socks off. He's also pulled Chicago house lynchpin DJ Rush into the record, on the jack-track blastin' opener 'Way Of Life'. It's a tune that Clarke has roadtested over the last twelve months, at clubs worldwide, from Portugal to Sao Paulo.
