This Thursday August 12 sees Croatian-based techno producer Petar Dundov
playing his first Irish DJ Set at Electric City. Ever since Petar
composed an anthem for the first Croatian rave party Under City back in
1993 he hasn't looked back. His excellent production skills were quickly
picked up by Formaldehyde Records [Attack the dance floor like a
bulldozer!] in Berlin who went on to release his next four EP's under
the name Unreal. Due to the success of these releases Dundov decided to
move to Berlin long before it was considered trendy. This cites grey
sometimes dreary outlook inspired him to move forward with his music and
performance as DJ showing his skills for the first time in legendary
E-Werk club. To connect even more closely to musical happenings in the
electronic music scene he started DJing on a regular basis. It wasn't
long before he had played all the major clubs around Europe.

In 1996 he started a project with his now deceased brother Simon, called
the Brothers Yard. The idea behind the project was to break down techno
to its original parts and build it up again in a new experimental way.
This was done to great effect with couple of powerful releases on
Absense and Pascal FEOS Planet Vision labels. These EP's opened many
doors and soon equally as impressive releases followed on W J Henze's
Federation of Drums, Delirium Red, Cristian Smith's Tronic label
[Evolver was one of the standout techno releases of 2000]

Not content with making just techno, Petar decided to branch out so for
his softer output he formed TikaTaka on Phono Elements. For this project
he produced a unique combination of tech-house, dub and acid. In 2001,
Petar presented his ambient works to Jeff Mills, who was so impressed he
released an LP on his label Tomorrow. Sculptures 1-3, are a timeless
concept with more philosophical approach to music.

Dundov returned to making techno in 2002 when he joined up with the Belgian
label Music Man for four highly successful EP's. One of those EP's included
collaboration with long time friend Steve Rachmad called the Amsterdam
Session. Recently he delivered another killer EP this time for Cisco
Ferreira [The Advent] Afterlife label. His DJ sets are full of
uncompromised, metallic, lo-fi techno, but with bags of soul and are not to
be missed.

Support on the night will come from Ex - Planet Dub man Jon Hussey. Jon
is a big fan of the broken beat techno sound. So expect tracks from the
likes of Surgeon, Reeko, Paul Bailey & Oleg & Joesuf and many more of
the new school of eastern European techno producers. This will be his
first appearance at the club since he played a cracking headline set
last year.

Lifelong Dundov fan Giles Armstrong will be playing some deep techno for the
opening hour.
