Terry McClean [Bad Taste Sessions - Omagh]
Decoy [52 Funk]
Admission e6 / e5 with flyer
This week, we return to giving upcoming and established Irish talent a
platform to rock the club so we hope you can get down and support. First up
is Decoy, a resident at one of the capital's finest musical nights, 52 Funk.
Hailing from Cavan, he has invited us to make up something about him but
we're not going to - we have decided that from now on honesty is the best
policy as far as press releases go and in future we will attempt to
decontruct the entire concept of press releases, or else get someone with a
proper education to do it for us. Anyway, in line with our new strategy of
sticking to the facts, here is a selection of rum tunes Decoy is going to
drop this week. You can also check out some killer mixes of his online at
http://www.52funk.com/mixes.htm
S-Max and Fym - Seismic Stealph Smurfz [7th City]
Luciano and Quenum - Orange Mistake [Cadenza]
Various Artists - The Paris EP Vol 2 [Crack and Speed]
1/2 inch - Jack [Halfinch]
Narcotic Syntax - Calculated Extravagant Licentiousness EP [Perlon]
TCS team - OK [Phictiv]
Justin harris - What's Inside My Head (Remix Li'l mark) [Tom Bone Music]
Mind Your Manners (Public Safety Mix) - James Cotton [Ghostly Intl.]
Brett johnson - It's The Underground [Magnetic]
Frankie 'Benga' John Tejada remix - [Frankie Records]
Karat - The Forgotten EP [Chloe]
The MFA - The Difference It Makes [Border Community]
Bringing the night to a close with a set of demonic techno and booty
shakin' electro will be Terry McClean from Bad Taste Sessions, Omagh &
Sonic Revolution in Liverpool. Terry has been running various nights in
Omagh and Liverpool since 1997, when he ran a house night with
occasional techno at numerous venues throughout the town. In September
2000, he launched a techno / electro night Bad Taste Sessions and at the
same time became resident a Sonic Revolution in Liverpool. Attracting
some of the best unknown and established DJs around, Bad Taste Sessions
has played host to the likes of Mr. C, Jamie Bissmire, Phil Kieran,
Steve Shiels, Colin Shields, Phurious Phil and Alan Simms. His diverse
technical talents have produced a range of distinctive sounds varying
from electro to breaks to full on techno, and have led to Mis-Spent
Youth, a collaborative effort between Terry and Full On's G-Roc to
present a 4 decks, 2 mixers extravaganza. Recently, Terry has teamed up
with Voodoo's Steve Shiels to host Liverpool's newest techno night The
Narcotic Suite, and has performed live on Steve's radio show The Voodoo
Hours. Terry has been invited to play at various venues throughout the
country including Deep Fried Funk (Derry), where he warmed up for Umek,
Evolution (Belfast), Voodoo and the Sick Lizard (Liverpool), and the
Electric Box in Leeds.
