View Full Version : Going for the smooth melodic approach

Just started this one yesterday morning. I'm going for the melodic techno approach. I've tried to keep the percussion pretty simple so it doesn't clash with synths/strings...
Any hints, tips or general thoughts?
Also what labels would release this sort of stuff?

ok, well to me this is tech-house.
Very similar to Terry Lee Brown Junior.
So to work out what labels would go for this.
Try vinyladdiction.co.uk and scan the tech-house tunes there.
This is nice, I was very into this sound when From Dub Till Dawn Came out.
And this has got me back into it. Cheers.
Just as a bit of advice, for this type of music, everything needs to be absolutely diamond clear.
So I think you could do with making the kick a little more crisp.
And generally step up the production level a touch, cos when you hit this genre the production standards are way high, so you can`t really get away with techno dirtyness.

Cheers guys :)
I'll give the kick a tweak and see how it goes. Maybe just layer something clickier on top of the current one.
Are any of you guys on Blackout writing similar stuff?
