Going for $1000 not sure on uk price - does have some good features but really isnt much different from the 500.

do like the 24-bit/96kHz digital-sampling system and 32-bit digital sound processing could improve many sound systems 100%

still the fx arnt really that much better than the 500 - its black tho which is always a plus with me.

no rotary tops mids and bottoms tho.

boo hoo

Control.....with the kaoss pad, because of the X Y pad, you practically have to guess where to put your finger to make the effect sound right, especially with delays, if youre off by half a centimetre, you'll mess up the delay.

The samplings poo

The pioneer beats it hands down - get the pioneer and i guarentee you will like it.

the pad is just a childs toy.

well, first of all you realy should read the effect list that you get with the kaos pas 2. each effect had his own coordinates and you are right, this need a little practice.
for example, effect no. 60 (BPM looper) has 4 fields where u can put ur finger, if u never worked with the kp2 this can be a bit unclear.
but you need for everything a bit practice? mixing requires also a bit practice too ;)

btw, did u also checked price/quality? the korg gives you more quality, effects for less price.
then we havent spoken yet about the sound quality of efx-500, i realy dont like that in every way (yes, ive tested it). the specs (sound quality) of the efx-1000 are better but price is way to high (and were are the new effects??).
max 300$ would be better...

i agree with you on the 1000's price its crap - only rich people and the higher paid djs will get it.

pioneer are cutting themselves short.

but it has superior sound to any fx unit with the 96/24 connections

yeah, i think that EFX-500 and KP2 will (still) be the most popular effect tools atm.
