this isn't bad. i don't think it's a good idea to have the kick drum panned though. keep it center.

cheers

I'm not really into acid but this is quite good. The kick is maybe a bit too soft for me, but hey, what do i know. Also chechk the panning through the track, cause it seems it's changing...Somewhere in the middle it's seems ok, but at the beginning the hole track is panned a bit on left...

I figured out that my sound card is going bad.

those pics look bad

as for your track, the only criticism i have is the kick doesnt sit right, it dissapears in the mix.

apart from that everything sounded ok

Hey, check the cables before buying a new card :-)
I have similar problems when recording my live-act's with PC and when i'm change the cables connected to mixer and PC Soundcard, the problem will disappear :-)

(but i prefer recording with my philips audio cd recorder - it works without PC and costs me ~50 EUR)

Well, it`s a very old acid sound, so not really my bag at all.
But it`s executed pretty well.

I don`t think this is a sound card problem.
It would appear that some of the effects are going to the right channel, and the rest is left.

The kick could be more punchy.

But yeah, this is ok.

Remastered to the best of my abilities. There's a spot in the middle where everything kind of leans to the right for a minute or so. I'm probably gonna have to re-record it when i get everything hooked back up.

Jaqbip: It's not the cables, i've tried everything! My sound card is bad unfortunatley=o[ This is one of the first things i'm buying when i get extra cash!! Enough of this consumer grade crap!

dirty_bass: It's the old sound i was after for this particular piece=o] The effects are X Delays...meaning they bounce back & forth. Punchy BDs are a thing that elude me! I just can't get them!!! I still have quite a bit to learn as far as mastering goes, but i'm getting there=o]

I find generally, to get more punch out of your kick.
It actually helps to do a little boost in the low mid area. And a little boost on the top end, will enhance the click on the nose of the kick as well.

Yes, that's one thing i DID forget to do, add some EQing of the parametric type=o] That's ok, this getting re-recorded.

not bad...very old school, it reminds me of an old hardfloor track, if this was release a few years back im sure it would be quite popular...i would recommend to play with that kick and try and add a bit of excitment...did you make this on Re-birth by the way?

No, i don't use software.

TB-303
TR-707 (master clock)
FB-383
Yamaha A4000 sampler
Alesis MMT-8

That's all that was used.

fair play to ya ...have you got anymore tracks ...would like to hear more?

I believe the processor in the yamaha runs what could be called software.
A sampler is a computer.

That's just playing semantics there. Going by that, i use a computer also cause i use a 303. After all, it IS Computer Controlled=o]

acidchild I LOVE THIS!!! Huge huge fan of the old funky acid sound a la Woody Mc Bride, Freddy Fresh, Hyperactive

EDIT: I think you lose a lot of punch in your kick because it's distorted. It's a trade off. I think it's fine though, I like it :)
