I want one of the littel fella's, and I was wondering which specs I should go for. I will be using it everyday for college, but I will also be using it for making music and possibly using ot for Ableton performances. Do I need to buy a sound card, if so what type and how much? This is what I was thinking of getting at a cost of £2,057.92 / €2,999.59. Its the 12" model. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

If I were you I'd wait for the G5 Powerbooks.
They aren't too far off... and once you get one, the time between upgrading to your next will lengthen dramatically as the platform is substantially better.

I got dicked buying a powerbook too late into it's lifecycle, and then a month later when the new ones came out, the lowest end one was better than my high-end one, and $1300 cheaper.

Ouch.

Just my $0.02 ;)

2000 quid just seems well too much to pay.

I've got a great 15 inch one for 1300 quid. And I bought extra ram on ebay dead cheap.

I think you need to do your research though on when the G5's are out...

G5's won't be out for at least a year. They are having alot of trouble with cooling as dual processors heat up alot and the small case can't carry a large enough fan.

They are experimenting with NASA technbology for silicon cooling but the last I heard it wasn't coming along as they'd hoped.

And even when it does come out, much like the G4 powerbooks, the second round of releases will kill the first.

I say buy the powerbook or better yet go through flexirent and upgrade when the G5 is released.
