KICK DRUM!

Ok... how about a BAO Members Kick Drum Sample CD? We should all start pooling kick drum sounds, with and without different effects each and then get someone to be the person who arranges them on to a CD and then sends all contributers a copy.

Might be a very nice way to give and recevie some wicked Kicks!

if we all zip say 20 or so of each sample in diferent catogorys say ,snairs,hats,kicks, and so on then that would be a nice start ;)

wicked! I reckon more people will be up for this, so I will PM some people on here and see if they are up for it.

I love percussion samples. I'm a whore for them! I have 40 gigs of stuff, some bad some good (not all perucssion) and I desperate for an excuse to rummage through and find the best of them and then put them on CD's.. so if I do this I'd love to share them with the people on the board.

Right, I will get mine done and if you lot make a start too hopefully we will be able to get this on the move soon.

At the close of this week I will PM everyone my address to send there contributions too and purchase a DVDR for each person. Once all CD's have arrived, I will sort them out in to folders of hats, kicks, snares, cymbals etc... and then put them all on to a DVD and send everyone who contributed a DVD of all the Percussion samples contributed as well as my own gigs worth.

In my eyes, more samples can be transferred via CD. I will fork out for a DVD for everyone who contributes as, hopefully, several CD's worth of percussion samples come my way. So I will post back to everyone all the samples that were contributed on one DVD with a lovely "Blackout Audio Members Percussion Samples DVD" sticker on it. I thought it was a good idea anyhow... ;)

Hakka - my collection is a somewhat un-organised and not everything i have is nicely named and in folders etc... you saying you'll organise em all up etc?

i have quite a big FTP site available (just under 3gig free) and can sort out a general login, or have personal logins - bandwitdh use is no problem ;) might save a bit of time in submissions and distribution....

Hello everyone.

So far I've only received 3 CD's in the post. I can work with that and what I've got, but it would be better if more people contributed.

Is anyone prepared to zip up a load of samples to a big file (say 50 - 100 meg?) and transfer over MSN? Would speed things up a bit!

Let me know so we can arrange a date and time for the transfer.

Just to let you all know this is still going on. Only received 3 cd's so far and 1 download off the net of a load.

I've been going through trying to find "duplicates" and its a long process with so many files! - I've got software that finds duplicates too which is helping.

I want this project to be perfect so I hope everyone can appreciate the delay. Also, please get in touch if you have any concerns or still wish to contribute. I really need to sort out download/upload methods of contributing for this. It was my birthday late November and now being Christmas I've had a lot my time taken up. BUT... I plan to be back on track soon and I will be contacting everyone about this project soon.

I really have to apologise for those waiting for this, it's taking longer than expected. I thought I would have it done by now...

So far I've 12,486 files on to my hard drive. I've sorted 5,203 of them... but I have another 30 CD's that I haven't even started on! :shock:

Once I've finished the 12,486, I will mail out that on one DVD. That's 2.4 gigs worth.

The other 30 CD's I have I will have to do over time, and mail out as and when they are completed. It's a cunt sitting here and listening over and over to samples. Ones that are already sorted are easy to copy and paste, but some are mixed up and there is A LOT still to do.

Keep on plugging away though... got tomorrow off too so I'm spending all day tomorrow on this as well.

Here's a break down of what is sorted so far.

Claps

340 files, 34.6 meg.

Cymbals & Bells

313 files, 58.6 meg.

Drums, Snare & Other Percussion

1,739 files, 166 meg.

Hat's (open & closed)

1,035 files, 73.6 meg.

Kick Drum's

1,379 files, 106 meg.

Hardcore Kick's

214 files, 9.2 meg.

Percussive Loops (including Techno, House, DnB etc...)

1,029 files, 307 meg.

There is also a "Misc" folder with odd bits, mainly shakers and odd drum noises.

I also have thousands and thousands more and like I said, roughly 30 CD's containing 200 meg to 500 meg on each of samples of high 24k quality. It's just a never-ending job listening and sorting, but I will get there and once it's done it should be wicked.
