Whats the best way to improve my performance with SX? I want to use plugins but as we all know they can quickly zap up all the CPU. I've been looking into the DSP cards and MOTU units. Can i wire up a MOTU to my PC to play audio files?

Wot OS? And the powercore card is looking like the pick of the bunch, if only 'cause you can get the Sony EQ for it.

Using XP.
Thats my choice between UAD1 and Powercore, but I'm interested in the MOTU units as well. Do they have a PCI card installed and then a breakout box?

The interfaces do, didn't know MOTU were doing much DSP stuff. I had a UAD card briefly. You need a low latency ASIO setup to make it work effectively and I didn't have one at the time, but the compressors are lovely. But not as nice as the Sony Oxford EQ is ... I should never have downloaded the demo, going to have to buy the bitch now, addicted, pisses all over the waves stuff at the top end.

No MOTU's dont have DSP,I think they just act as a soundcard with in and outs. Is the powercore getting third party support?
