just wondering. what is the best way to stay up to date on a genre that has little/no presence in your area? better yet, how does one become compedative in that area?

the best way to keep up to date, if not in your own area...is the internet mate...as much info as you will ever need...on any stlyle of music...or here of course ;)

www.phillytechno.org is pretty good for music links. why don't you try there? There's some good schranz mix links in there recently.

The internet is your best friend.

There are no schranz/techno record stores anywhere within 2 hours of here either.
