Ikeaboy - Live [Invisible Agent - Waterford]
Simon Conway [electricity]
Admission: e7 / e5 members
This week we kick off the new year with a special Munster double-header in
the shape of Waterford's electro don Ikeaboy and young Kerry techno whiz kid
CJ Fitz. Ikeaboy will be playing his first EC set from 12.30 until 1.30.
Since he started playing live for the now de-funct Subversive crew, Ikeaboy
has gone onto make over two dozen live appearances around Ireland. Equally
comfortable with acid fried party lunatics or a deep techno crowd he has
appeared at Musiklab, South, Sir Henrys, Traffic, Bleep and Neuromantek as
well as all DEAF festivals. Recently he released a tough sounding electro EP
on the excellent Invisible Agent label. While his next release sees him make
his long awaited D1 debut with an EP that includes a remix by one of his
personal heros Keith Tucker (Aux 88).
Following him will be the Kerry Bomber, CJ Fitz, with his debut appearance
at EC. He sent us a rocking tape of firing techno mixed up to hyper level,
and with a pedigree of playing alongside the likes of Umek, Billy Nasty,
Trevor Rockliffe, Justin Robertson at clubs like Transmission at Horan's and
Bastardo Electrico in Cork. As well as numerous appearances on both 2FM and
also Radio Friendly with the Bastardo crew, all this has been achieved at
the young age of 20. This dex polymath is set to rock the club with a
selection of fresh techno right from the Kingdom. Kicking off the first
night of '05 will be EC resident Simon Conway with some rolling deep
electro.
