Has any one heard this tune...Dirty Bass 'Emotional Soundscape'?
What do you think?
Personally i think this a real breath of fresh air...uplifting techno! :D

have you got a link?
Too right Matt... the track has a deep, rumbling sub-bassline and uses an emotional Byork sample. Sounds dodgy, I know, but it's a beautiful piece of work that could lift any techno set.
Why isn't there more stuff like this?
Mark, I don't know if u can hear tracks on the site, but check www.londontechno.co.uk for more info.

wow that sample is plain as day isn't it.
Apparently, Sasha's been playing this (dropped it at Glastonbury for sure). I know he's not techno... but he's always had amazing taste IMO.
Dirty Blue 2's out soon... It's got similar bass :D

Was a free launch party last thurs somewhere near Liverpool St with DB playing along with some other london techno stalwarts (which I missed  ). There's another one on the 4 sept (Open Source Recordings launch night) with Dirty Blue and Pat Hurley doing a backtoback 'Dark House' Set, Seb marx live and Jeff Amadeus on 3 decks. Worth a punt methinks.

the mastering on this track is terrible. i dont even wanna play it cause it sounds so bad compared to all the other tracks.

I was going to say, the idea of the Bjork thing sounded a bit nasty.... can get with the stuff she did bith Mark Bell, but I doubt this would be my thing...

Definitely not nowadays agreed, but you could have made that statement about Sasha in around 89-91. For his across the board selection, it was actually hard to find a more eclectic club dj, who could mix the tunes properly.

dunno about sasha these days but *ducks and runs* i quite like digweed..
It was actually a sasha tape i found in an old barn when i was about 9 that got me into dance music..

Ok, well, My first release has caused a bit of controversy(?) all over the shop so let me clear a few things up.
The Bjork thing was an accident. I`d just sorted a distribution deal with Electronik Music Distribution, and Pat Hurley heard the Bjork tune (which I did mainly for myself), and he kinda bludgeoned me into releasing it.
And I can see why now, the tune has turned out to be a massive hit, and has paved the way for the continuation of the label (which is entirely self financed). Although I don`t think I`ll be doing too much of this sort of commercialism. Although underneath all the Bjork and stuff, it`s still grindy and grimey. Still for a first release by an unknown, it`s done alright and is on the 3rd re-pressing, although I`m not sure if getting caned by Sasha is cool or not??
The Label will continue with one side tech-house, and one side hard techno, and hopefully, the mastering is much better (you never stop learning). the next release is imminent. And in fact is up for pre-sales at bangingtunes.com
Who am I, well I was the nice guy who co-ran Pendulum Soundsystem in London, and has given up puttin on squat parties, as I just couldn`t keep fighting off the crack heads forever, and couldn`t stand by and let it happen either.
We have a club night "White Label" every other thursday in London aimed at promoting Producers and Record Labels rather than DJ`s.
Last week was cool, Sebastian Marx Live was Top. He is gonna be one to watch.
We are trying to give London a bit more techno, and generally just supporting the scene by giving producers an outlet.
I may well be getting on to Henry, Chris et all at some point in the future, although at the mo we are running the night completely free, so we can`t afford to pay em.
Next week we have
Getafix Records
G.H.A.R (coalesce)
James Kinetec (Stay up Forever, Power Tools)
Dirty Bass (DirtyBlue/Dirty Bass Records)
Rob Wash (Stinky Pink)
and White Label Crew
Full Details at http://www.londontechno.co.uk
Come down, we need your support to keep hold of the venue (which is really nice)
Anyway take it easy folks and

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarse!! Still awake, working on DB03 (should be doing a release a month from now on), Mucking about with r`n`b style groove quantising, really throwing everything way off the beat. Works for r`n`b but doesn`t work for techno, don`t bother trying it (hey ya gotta experiment though right?). Just wasted hours.
Oh due to there being another Dirty Blue records (in manchester) my label name is Changing to DirtyBass Records (still keeping the DB serial).

Well, I dunno, the Sasha thing is a wierd one. Y`see I come outa the squat party scene, so I wanna keep it underground, and sasha is one of the worlds biggest big name DJ`s. And he`s been caning my release. So being in the world of underground techno, you are in a fix, cos you wanna spread the word, but if you get big airplay by the majors, you get panned, just like guy and the boys are getting accused (by some) of selling out.
Sasha has helped me enormously, by playing my record across the globe, and boosting my sales, but now my mates (who are still putting on squat parties ie StinkyPink and friends) are ribbing me for it.
So in a way, it`s cool, cos I`m getting global coverage, an in a way, it sucks, cos me mates think I`m gonna start popping off to ibiza for champers with da commercial set (sooooo likely).
**** it, I just wanna make and play what I want, it`s what I`ve always done anyway.

Respect mate - that's all you can do and no-one should ask any more of you. Personally I loved both sides of your record. Something different, and it's hardly your fault (if fault should even be the right word) that Sasha decided it was a wicked tune.

I Aplogise for rambling last night, but was in the studio and stressed with what I was doing. Anyway got the track sorted in the end, sounds good now. :)

Sasha used to do Twilo in Nyc...............I;m not crying that he's gone. But I do agree we can't help who likes our stuff. Then again no one wants to hear that your song hit number one in Iraq either.
