Thursday January 20th - Pop Fiction World Tour
Kiko [Hot Banana / Gigolo - France]
Le Skkatter [M.A.F]
Admission: e10 / e8 members
This Thursday sees us continue our best Gene Hackman impression with another
link in the French Connection (following The Hacker, Francois K, Oxia,
Vitalic, Agoria and Tioneb) coming to play Electric City and Ireland for the
first time. Kiko is the man with ze plan with releases in 2004 out on Tiga's
Turbo label, Laser Gun, Good Life and his own Ozone & Hot Banana imprints
and this year on Hell's Gigolo label. The release of Pop Fiction
(Hot Banana's family album staring Trevor Jackson, Kiko, David Carretta...)
is supported by a Pop Fiction Tour. Kiko's tour goes on until February with
other stops stops in Sao Paulo, Rio, Barcelona, Bordeaux, Paris, Detroit,
Washington, Seattle, San Francisco, Vancouver and Mark Moore from S'Express
has invited the native of Grenoble to Electrogogo in London. What better
place to play the Irish leg of the tour than the poison-free arena of
Electric City ? Trés bon !
Kiko's style is to produce dance floor tracks which combine electro, new
wave, techno & italo disco and it's this killer style which he uses to
devastating effect in his DJ sets. Kiko had one of the biggest tracks of the
year under his Bikini name with the Mix Master track on Hot Banana - this
track was rocked by everyone from Hell, Robotnick, Tiga, Hacker, Smagghe,
Glimmers, Carretta and more. Kiko has also brought focus on the Italo sound
by releasing tracks from Alexander Robotnick alongside Mr Flagio's classic
'Take a Chance' on Hot Banana. His anthem 'Monique' and the rocking
'Midnight Magic' album, both on Good Life, are two more examples of the
killer tunes Kiko has made that kick le dancefloor. Be sure to get down to
check this French boy wonder out at Electric City.
Supporting Kiko will be electro boffin and man about Fairview Le Skkatter.
This will be everybody's favourite nerd third appearance behind the Electric
City Turntables. Expect him to play a deep selection of electro and techno
from the likes of 2 Dollar Egg, Decal, Carl Finlow and his beloved Si Begg.
