What do I need in a PC to make a decent tune. I'm running cubase and soft synths/drums and the shitty computer i'm using at the moment starts sounding like a skipping cd after to many effects. Whats more important, clock speed, memory, sound card?
Are the 'M' processors alot faster than normal ones?

a combination of all the things mentioned, personally, if i was building a pc now for music, i would get and amd64bit winchester socket 939 3500 processor, a decent motherboard made by either asus, abit, msi or gigabyte, 1024Mb of ram, a seagate sata hard drive and then a top end sound card, the sound card would differ depending on your budget.

personally, i'd burn it and get a mac with as much memory and cache you can get your hands on with a motu 828 sound card, stop wasting your time with crappy plug ins that sound shit and buy the real thing

oh no, here we go again with the mac v's pc debate, and the hardware v software argument.

Personally, i say go with what you feel comfortable with

exactly, and those who really open their minds to software end up realising the sound quality is achievable if u work at it!

Wish I could afford hardware but i'm on a bit of a tight budget, unless anyone wants to buy me a juno in the name of undergound musik ;)
