View Full Version : Rolando Leaves UR and Los Hermanos Camp

Ritzi Lee

After 10 years of loyal service as a Underground Resistance member Rolando is no longer an 'active soldier' in the UR camp. Due to unforeseen and sadly irreconcilable differences in respect of his partners in the Los Hermanos label - Rolando will make no further recordings with Los Hermanos and is seeking to amicably dissolve his partnership.

In response to the numerous enquiries by fans (and to avoid their disappointment) we wish to make it clear that Rolando will not be taking part in the current live tour with the band Los Hermanos.

Rolando has spent the last few months buried in the studio recording new material and is looking to create more diverse and creative relationships in future recordings and collaborations.

He wishes to thank all of those who have supported him in taking this brave step forward to a new phase and he thanks them for their faith and encouragement in making this possible.

God this talk of getting 'signed' to labels cracks me up - this is techno, not Hip Hop, it's hardly a multi million pund industry - do people really get (or even want) exclusive signings these days?? I think not.

There's so many mentions of is there 'profit' in this or that on here as well recently, of course there's ****ing not, it's a marginalised genre - if it's profit you're after go make some accessable music and get 'signed' to some major label with a nice ceremony :D

well the only thing i ever heard about him was that he was really boring/bored while he was playing in brasil
which is an accomplishment really , as it's the least boring country in the world.
so big up to big boring daddy of the one track wonder!!!!
fantastic!
i hope he locks himself in the studio and loses the key!

So, someone told you he was boring and he's a one track wonder, jeeesh do your home work, even better, go and see him. I've got tracks and mixes that will bust your sorry ass ;) Watched him rock the house with Claude Young in Leeds a couple of months ago and I have a couple of 12s by him that get a play every single week.

Everyone knows how UR works and people always move on, check out Mad Mikes interview doing the rounds, you'll understand a little more if you do.

ive seen rolando a few times and have been rarely been bored by both his track selection or his mixing skills. you really cant judge him by SOMEONE else's one time opinion.

I've got respect for the whole detroit thing due to their laidback attitude more than anything else (apart from the wicked music).

I doubt there's any hostility and I hope the guy keeps producing good music (Knights of the Jaguar was sensational orchistration, on a musical level).

Saw him play here in Dublin about 4 years ago and he was excellent, throwing down doubles of loads of shit, lots of tricks.. playing Detroit stuff (old and new) alongside a lot of good European techno.

Had a few mixes from him on my radio show last year and they were ok, bit more of the tech house side which did kind of bore me in the end. I think he has his techno hat on sometimes, and then there's the dreamier tech house side which ain't always the most gripping to listen to.

personally found nights of the jaguar pretty average.

Not sure about the hype that sorrounds him in all honesty.

Think that DTD is spot on!

My story: Heard that record in a shop, didn't think it was any good, nevermind what the reviews said. then forgot about it and later found myself bouncing to that very tune on an evening, not knowing what that record was.

In that moment i wished that record would never stop. :rambo:

I'm not mad on it but I wouldn't describe it as average, it's a massive production.

so? this tends to happen when a track explode's like "Jaguar" did, doesnt take anything away from it either musically or technically... im not the biggest fan of the track (ive never played it out) but it is an absolute masterpiece production and its in another league to any trance productions out there thats for sure!

Why the need to compare it too a trance production?

Because i ave trance associated with me?

If ur not the biggest fan of the track, then surely u wont ave a clue when comparing it too trance?

I never once suggested that it wasnt as good as any trance track ive heard, and was only speakin in terms of techno (in which i play shit loads of, u closed minded little man)

I was giving my opinion, so before u come back with ur kiddie, u like trance, and its never gonna be as good as techno argument, u should maybe ave a look at urself!

Idiot!

think ur getting a bit paranoid there son, it was a tongue in cheek reference just as Schlongs was, which incidently was BEFORE my comment, put ur dummy back in mate for gods sake.... u must really feel uneasy with Trance if u take a comment like mine as a personal attack on the music....

and production wise, it is in another league, its one of the most lush, orchastrated pieces of music ever produced, and thats something anyone has to appreciate regardless of their preferences....

and not being a fan of a certain track doesnt make u any less qualified to comment on its production if u know what ur on about (which i do strangely enough!)

here's a tissue, dry ur eyes!

Your getting completely paranoid there geezer, I didn't mean anything against you by that comment at all!!!

Was an honest statement, it's very very string driven orchestral music, I bought it when it first came out, and still feel the best track to mix it in with is Cafe Del Mar.

Take a chill pill chap, or have a spliff :D

whats so bad about personally attacking his music? trance sucks. thats the truth. Everyone seems to be so politically correct these days but just cannot face the fact that i havent heard a good trance song since Sven Vath in the early 90's. LOL
