Thursday March 10th - Electric City Second Birthday Party:
Vitalic - LIVE [Citizen / Gigolo - France]
Patrick Pulsinger [Cheap Recordings - Austria]
Giles Armstrong [electricity]
Tickets available from Selectah Records, Temple Bar.
Doors open 10.30.
This Thursday sees us reach the milestone that is our second birthday. To
celebrate we've gone for a heavyweight international line-up in the form of
a live set from Frenchman Vitalic and a DJ set from Cheap label-owner
Patrick Pulsinger. Vitalic thoroughly enjoyed making his debut Irish
appearance at the club back in July 2004 and is very keen to return to wish
us all a happy birthday and to eat some of our birthday cake. Last time he
played a blistering set of electro and techno and of course the Poney EP to
a full basement of Electric Citizens. Fresh from remixing Bjork, this live
appearance will be part of a tour to promote his new LP 'OK Cowboy' which is
set to be released on Different Recordings in April. For more info on
techno's best dressed man check out his site
http://www.vitalic.org/ .
Our second very special guest of the evening will be Patrick Pulsinger, one
of our long time musical heroes and boss of the wicked Cheap Recordings
label out of Vienna. Ever since we were blown away by Dogmatic Sequences on
Disko B in a small flat on Parnell Street many many moons ago we have always
checked out the elusive Mr. Pulsinger who's musical output is some of the
most inspiring and future sounding we've had the pleasure to listen to.
Following the two volumes of Dogmatic Sequences he released the cult
album Porno, also on Disko B, and the stunning Carrera album [as Sluts N
Strings & 909] produced many tracks under his other production names such
as: Sluts N Strings & 909, Dean & Deluca [on Robert Hood's M-Plant label ]
Church of Carbon [w/ Gerhard Potuznik], iO [on Mo' Wax], and worked remixes
for such varied people as Chicks on Speed, Fennesz, David Holmes, OP:L
B:stards, Foremost Poets, Fashion Party [Eskimo], Peter Rehberg, Ken Ishii,
Jaydee, Die Sterne, Yoshinori Sunahara and many many more. Chances are,
even if you don't know it, you have a Patrick Pulsinger record in your
collection. This will be a very special chance to hear Patrick spin - do not
miss! For more info on the Cheap Record label and Patrick, go to
www.cheap.at while at www.d-i-r-t-y.com you can listen to a special '10
