not sure, but i do know that the 909 can be pretty unreliable as a slaved sequencer running to MIDI clock. My mates kept jumping and was near useless.

as for the accent, not sure mate.

there was a very good old post about sync'ing 909's.. do a search ... If there is a question most surelly it's been covered there!

if you move the velocity level in your sequence you can get a change in the levels as if you where using the accent internally

is this what your trying to do?

well you know when you use the 909 sequencer you can add say your Bass Drum in then press again and youve got Accent.

will you lose that accent if programming from another sequencer? dont wanna be losin that punch now ;)

I program my 909 via cubase all the time and with the veloicty setting you should be able to get 3 different veloicity settings, as you would get playing into the 909s sequencers

i have never really noticed any drop in levels between internal patterns and stuff sequenced from cubase.

and if it dont work just turn the kick channel up

in that case you can get more out of a sequencer!

and by the way.
it's not a problem to do some knob turning job while you keep your sequencer qorking.
it's like you have extra 2 hands working for you. ;)

When you play your sequence on a soft seq you can get 127 different velocity's, other than 2 (accent and not accent). Not sure if 909 accent is only about velocity indeed. This way you can achieve delay (trough midi delay;try FL) of snares an hihats for example. You can even play both simultaneous (as I remember). You can leave the base on the 909 (kick and toms) and trigger the hihats and the other tones by the soft seq. Or just make a big mess.
Anyway, I recommend to use the 909 seq. Mayble sample delayed notes. But thats all... its sequencer may not be too flexible but thats not what it was made for.
Sorry for the bad English
