Thursday April 7th // Kne' Deep Records Party :
DJ Rush [Kne' Deep / Djax - Chicago]
Marco Remus [Nerven Records - Berlin]
Rian Ryan [Electric City]
Tickets priced 15 euro on sale from Selectah Records, Temple Bar.
***Doors open at 10.
Well, well, well, what can we say - this one is going to be an
absolutely mega mega night at Electric City - one of our biggest & best
yet. The walls of Traffic are going to crumble as one of the biggest DJs
in the world makes his long-awaited return to Dublin. DJ Rush - the 6'
6" Denis Rodman of techno will be shaking down the club and tearing up
the decks alongside the rock Marco Remus. DJ Rush has heard so much
about Electric City that he was crazy to get over here to spin and this
is sure to be a crazy night with the cross-dressing sailor boy. DJ Rush
[born Isiah Major] is responsible for making some of the hardest,
fastest, downright nastiest techno-house from his three homes in
Chicago, London, and Berlin.
Born in Chicago, Rush entered the clubbing world at a young age. It was
at legendary Chicago clubs such as The Ringzone, Playground, The
Candystore, and The Music Box that he developed a taste for electronic
music. He soon began tinkering with equipment in his bedroom, releasing
his first audio assault, "Knee' Deep," in '91 on the world-renowned TRAX
imprint. One year later, his second release ("Childs Play") opened the
floodgates for him to travel Europe as a DJ, where his flamboyant style
and outlandish dress sense gained him many followers.
DJ Rush [Major Rush, Russian Roulette] has had releases through the
years on heavyweight labels such as Dance Mania, Trax, Saber, Cosmic,
Djax-Up-Beats, Force Inc, Relief, Mental Groove, Session, Terminal M,
Predicaments, Jackstar not to mention his own imprints of Pro Jex and
Kne' Deep. Classic techno and jacking anthems such as Get On Up, Robo'
Trippin, Mother****ing Bass, Ooo La La, showcase the absolutely low down
sleazy hard hitting twisted techno and house music that Rush has
produced. The man is a bona fide star and DJing legend through the years
with more credentials than a Mourinho press conference. There is not a
festival or club worldwide of note that Rush hasn't played and this is
going to be a killer night.
Alongside DJ Rush on the night will be Nerven label boss and EC favourite,
Marco Remus. Marco unleashed a devastating display of classic Chicago jams
mixed up deckswise with full on Kne' Deep, Kiddaz F.M and Nerven classics
last year. So overwhelmed was Marco by the cheers and reception he got
[both before and after playing] when he played that he promised he'd be back
and not only that - he's coming with the Major. Marco has blown away clubs
with his techno anthems such as Techno Gladiator, **** Me I'm Famous, and
his rocking Neubaten album on Nerven.
Completing the Triple R of line-ups is our very own Rian Ryan - his deck
skills and application to the Technics are unrivalled and being a devoted
fan of the Chicago / Ghetto sound he was the perfect choice to represent. He
warmed up before Remus last time he played and has constantly rocked the
controls of EC every time he has played. Rian gets the show on the road at
10 o'clock so make sure to arrive early.
Tickets for this one are flying like an eagle on speed so don't delay get
yours today. Tickets are available from Selectah Records on Crow Street in
Temple Bar. Price of tickets is a Tesco-approved e15.
