SCOTT GRAY
Plus special guests tba
10pm - 4am £12adv/members

Green Velvet, aka Cajmere, aka Curtis Jones studied chemical engineering
at the University of Illinois before returning to Chicago in 1991 to
pursue his dream of producing house music. His Cajmere and Dajae
''Brighter Days'' resulted in a No 2 Billboard Dance Chart placing and
the subsequent birth of Cajual Records for 'CAJ's house music
productions.

In 1993 as an outlet for his darker, more instrumental tracks - Relief
Records was set up and behold the creation of the eccentric,
experimental wig wearing GREEN VELVET!
''Preacher Man'' was the first, then came the early 90s defining
''Flash'' .The twisted tale that was ''The Stalker'' came next. Moving
on from ''The Stalkers'' dark humour - in 1997 the brilliant ''Answering
Machine'' crossed genres to help set up GVs first studio LP. ''Constant
Chaos'' released on Music Man in 1999. 2001 saw his second LP
''whatever'' which sporned the massive single ''La La Land'' plus
somewhere in between was a compilation LP ''The 90's'' and numerous mix
CDs.

"I guess it's sorta like folk music for the rave scene." Is what CAJ was
once quoted in an interview when talking about Green Velvet lyrics and
that gives you a taste of the twisted magic to come.
Whether as Cajmere or Green Velvet, his DJ sets and amazing live shows
are always sold out and always a spectacle to behold. Don't miss this
rare and exclusive UK live show in support of the next installment of
Green Velvet LP action! His fantastic new LP 'Walk In Love' on Relief
Records is available from June 14th from the artists website.

i know it sounds bad.....but thats great news for me....
we have a night planned 9th july and we were really wary of goin up against voodoo (we had no other choice really though due to the dj we should be getting only being available that date....and it was a diffrent type of techno i spose)

hopefully we'll be able to confirm everythin in the next week or so

sorry, it's just not viable for us to put parties on in july and august, liverpool is a ghost town when the students go home. most clubs will be finishing up now until september.

It does my head in this student thing. Where the fuk do they all go? do they all live on farms or something. Seems like everything just dies, not just in liverpool.

madness it was! not long got home, phewwww, what a Voodoo that was.... totally immense, Shielsy played a superb 3 hour set as usual, tighter than a nuns **** and some lovely tunage... Green Velvet was simply class, proper party set indeed with the new album and the obvious classics, ace stuff.... was pretty nervous about following that but must say i enjoyed it alot and it was the best gig ive played/had by far... pretty packed but not annoyingly with about 500 + in that awesome main room, it was extremely enjoyable to get that many people dancing and it went off big time for sure, the reception we got at the end was much appreciated and it was nice to see all the usual heads there

my best Voodoo since it reopened easily, truely a superb night and havent enjoyed playing a set like that since i started djing thats for sure

good to see the usual heads there too... if anyone got any pics or even video's email them to me at scott@djscottgray.co.uk so i can put them up on my site

many thanks!

Yet another class night at voodoo!

Steve sheils warmed it up nicely with a solid 3 hour set, Green velvet was brilliant, wasnt too sure if i would enjoy his set as wasnt too keen on the new album but there was plenty of classics thrown in.

As for Scott and Brendan finishing wow! quality tune selection and plenty of trickery! I think they play better as a pair because they push each other and try to out do one another. Gutted there is only one voodoo left untill september

13-06-2005, 07:41 PM
yeah tis a shame but its the annual summer break for most clubs.... but the next one shud rock, Billy Nasty and Sons of Slough live should be sweetness...

WOW. quality voodoo that.

the whole night just flowed perfectly. shields warmed up brilliantly and green velvet just made it one big **** off party.

scott and brendan though were amazing , i really mean that. prefect way to round the night off. possibly one off the best all round techno sets i have heard in a while.

who need big name guests when you get sets like this played by the locals.

nice one lads. hope to see more of this in the future ;)

ok..enough being nice... you bunch of cunts :rambo:
