MORE INFO:

Live: B12 (Warp, Artificial Intelligence)

Notoriously shy of the music press, the London based duo of Mike Golding and Steve Rutter have made a massive impact on the UK electronic music scene since exploding onto the scene in the early 90’s. Their style is often compared favourably to the great Detroit producers such as Juan Atkins and Derrick May and can best be described as heavily syncopated techno/electro with a strong base in melody and mood - futuristic music for a digital age.

They first started to release music in the early 90's under pseudonyms such as RedCell and CStasis on their own B12 imprint and were immediately hailed alongside the great UK techno artists such as LFO and The Black Dog. Their notoriety was soon picked up on by Sheffield's Warp Records, who signing the duo to the label in 1992 and released the legendary Electrosoma in 1993. They followed the release with a three-year hiatus before releasing the like-sounding Time Tourist in 1996 and after their third long player, 3EP was issued on Warp in 1998 the duo retracted from public space and reportedly from electronic music production till now.

2004 saw their first live set in 6 years, headlining London’s Wheels Instead of Hooves. Now it's Sequence's turn as they take part in a two-date tour taking in Sheffield and Manchester.

Live: Posthuman (Seed Records, Skam)

Posthuman are London based cousins Rich Bevan and Joshu Doherty. The duo first began writing music together at the age of 15 with old drum machines and second hand electronics. They were given their first break by Skam in 1999 and debuted with a live set at the infamous Compression night supporting Altern8 and Gescom and a first release on the label, Auberginetix Ping.

Joshu and Rich relocated to London to step things up a gear, founding Seed Records in 2000 and launching the label with their debut album Uncertainty of the Monkey. It was around this time that the duo started to put on the now legendary Underlondonground sessions held at a disused tube station in Aldwych. This provided the perfect platform for Posthuman for regular master classes in live electronics, joined by just about anyone who is anyone, Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert, Funkstorung, Richard X, Plaid to name a few.

Since then the boys have cultivated Seed, releasing records from the likes of Ardisson, as well as bringing out a self-titled EP in March 2002 and a second full length album Lagrange Point in 2003. They continue to run Seed Records as well as playing shows frequently across the UK and Europe with their live sets showcasing their more aggressive, dance floor tendencies, away from the experimentation and introspection of their albums.

Dj: Mark 'Turbo' Turner - Old School Electro Set (The Orbit, Player)

Mark is one of the UK's longest standing techno Djs. He was the resident Dj at the infamous Orbit techno night, held in Morley, Leeds, first playing in the backroom before being made the resident in the main room due to his extensive skills on the turntables. He plays out regularly across the country and most recently provided Dj support for top techno jock, Surgeon at Analog. He also finds the time in his busy schedule to work full-time at one of Manchester's longest standing record shops, the mighty Eastern Bloc also co-running the hard-as-nails Player imprint.

However, techno aside, his main love is all things electro. A true multi skilled Dj, he headlined Sequence in December, busting out a booty set that could have come straight outta Detroit. He followed this by playing Computer Controlled in March where he tore it up with an all-out electro set. This time he's going back to the grass roots with a classic old school electro set - taking it back to purest 1984 with Ableton, decks, effects and a mic! Frreeesssh!!!
