The JV80 is a multi-timbral performance synthesizer keyboard with a 61 note velocity & aftertouch keyboard. As a synthesizer, creation of new sounds is accomplished by adding harmonics to the original PCM waveforms using "Frequency Cross Modulation", modification with time variant filters & amplifiers, 3 envelopes, 2 LFOs, an "Analog Feel" parameter, and more.
Up to 4 created or preset tones can be combined into patches. Additional features include 129 preset waveforms (many with multisamples) / 4 megabytes (expandable to 12 megabytes with optional SRJV80 ROM expansion board), 28 voice polyphony & 8 part multi-timbral (7 + rhythm), 128 preset / 64 user patch memory, 40 x 2 character backlit LCD, 2 audio channel outputs plus headphones, and dual card slots for PCM / patch data cards.
