Lakota, Friday July 15th 2005
9pm-6am. £4 adv, £5 on the door.
Bristol has a fantastic club scene, with top quality events almost every night of the week. This community isn’t fairly represented at Ashton Court Festival.
In protest, 37 of Bristol’s finest club nights and organisations unite:
to send a message to the festival that it’s poorer without us.
to showcase the vibrancy, unity and peaceful nature of Bristol’s club scene.
to demonstrate the ability of a diverse group of clubbers and ravers to come together and celebrate the scene.
to illustrate that the city’s promoters and partygoers can co-operate and protest against the absence from the site.
Unity will be one of the biggest parties the city has ever witnessed, an unprecedented coming together to provide a night of high quality music from the local scene. It will be the dance stage reborn as a celebration of the culture we spend so much time and effort maintaining. The event will be staged across four rooms. From hip-hop to house, breaks to balaeric, dub to drum & bass the party will cater for ravers across the spectrum. Supported by local soundsytems, VJs and decor specialists, all senses will be treated to a fantastic night of Bristol's best.
Everyone involved with Unity is giving their services for free and, as Unity is a goodwill protest, all money raised will be donated to the festival committee as an illustration of our intent to push for a return to the site in 2006 and beyond. Help us show the festival what it’s missing. Join us to make a stand — and for the best party of your life.
