ELECTRIX RECORDS was launched in late 2000 by the world renowned Billy
Nasty as a bridge to link techno and electro; a hybrid of two musical
forms that he had been a huge fan of for many years. With DJs like
Garnier, Weatherall & Clarke amongst the label's biggest fans you can't
go wrong!
BILLY NASTY has been DJing professionally for over fourteen years and
has consistently featured in the annual DJ Mag Top 100, he's in the
Guiness Book of Records for making the very first commercially available
mix CD (Journeys By DJ), club promoter, multiple label owner, producer
and a Voodoo regular since 1993. This is Billy's first time at Voodoo
with his Electrix Label in tow. We're excited to hear Billy play an
electro-tech set before we take our summer break!
SONS OF SLOUGH aka Ian Weatherall and Duncan Gray. Initially a studio
project, the Sons made their live debut in April 1998. In 2001 the Sons
made their vinyl debut and followed later that year by a release for
Skint - "Omegadent" . Further release brought them to the Elextrix
stable and they will be peforming trax from their current Electrix LP
'Milk,Milk, Lemonade'
STEVE SHIELS & BRENDAN LONG will as ever be supporting as only they know
how - properly!
VOODOO will be taking a summer break and will be back in September.
Happy holidays & festival season to you all!
p.s. The show scheduled for July 9th has been postponed. MODEL 500 live
& Resident DJ BONE will be back in October - watch this space for much
filth to come in the Autumn!

TBH i prefer Nastys Electro sets to his techno ones, not takin anything away from him he is a legend but his techno sets are very predictable.

Eddie
06-07-2005, 11:09 AM
I had heard it was goin back monthly and that it was thinkin of opening both rooms but this is the first i heard about D&B bein in the second??!!?? Also the first i heard about luke slater playin (i thought i knew the reopening guests and didnt hear a mention of slater?)
It could work well, i mean atomic jam has a drum and bass room, but its not really my cup of tea.

Would be a sick idea in my opinion , d and b go hand in hand ! And it would be rammed !

06-07-2005, 12:12 PM
techno and dnb do seem to go hand in hand, i know so many people who love both styles pretty much exclusively... the only dnb i really like is the really chilled out or jazzy stuff, quite used to like John B and the Kruder and Dorfmeister "Conversions" mix CD was excellent
alsynthe
06-07-2005, 12:15 PM
i prefer the other end of dnb like paul blackout, eye-d harsh aggresive dnb, i reckon techno and dnb would go well together
Traxx
06-07-2005, 12:38 PM
Its a great idea imo, best bit of clubbin news ive had in ages. The best in dnb in room - the best in techno in the other - booooyaa
Bet chibuku will be made up
Its already been confirmed by the dnb side of it so id be fairly certain it will go ahead & i cant fukin wait
