Have to say, Dark By Design are amazing. Been listening to the most hard trance releases and they are all pretty good.

Anyone else really in to Dark By Design?

i dont really rate his stuff all that higly personally, but hes got IMMENSE talent, thats obvious.

He puts out too much imo.

I like some of the releases he has done when working with others too as well as on his own...

A lot do sound the same and use similar idea's, which is failing... but my favourite has to be Unlimited Project and Nexus.

Preferred some of his older tracks, like "Visions Of Skywalking" and a few others that came out on promo at Nu Energy, thats when I heard about him first. At the moment, a lot of Gazza's choonz are beginning to sound pretty similar.

never really felt much of his stuff, blackout was cool.... but ahm wi corbz, new snare pattern would be nice.


Some of his stuff aswell seems to be a million times better made, than other tracks he does.

like it when he does the german sound, reckon he should push that.

I am a big fan of Dark By Design. Gaz has produced some quality stuff of late. Playin with Fire was a good tune.
To be honest, I prefer his remix work. He is half of HTUK with phil york and there remix of Tenth Planet's ghosts from last year was amazing, and indeed the Join me mix at the moment. Also love his remix of Dave Joy's "First Impression" on Good Greef Tunes. Awesome stuff!!

i agree some his stuff sounds the same but hes come up with some awesome tunes aswell.. paradise ahs goto be 1 of my favourites though. i got a set of his live @ dancevalley 2005 and i goto say its a ****in bangin set, theres 2 tunes on there that i particularly like and they are Second Trip (DBD Remix) and Basic Dawn - pure thrust (BDB Remix) both of these tunes are yet to be released

The track I really liked off him was severe punishment on goodgreef :clap: . A proper club banger and a definitely more darker than his melodic hard trance offerings I do think he produces too much of the same style and needs to rest and come back with fresh material. Still a very talented producer and his tracks are of a high production standard.

Ive seen em play a few times, once at Brixton Academy and also at Voltz in Blandford last year !! I think theyre really good althou dont see them advertised much.... i reckon if they played out a bit more south west they'd have more interest.....

Not that keen on there productions either....there tracks sound the same, and they dont seem to go anywhere. They won Best Remixers at the Hard Dance awards. With Gaz West coming Runner Up to BK in the best producer catagory :lol:

On top of that Mark EG was Runner Up to Ed Real....In the Industry Party Animal award!! :shock:......And wasn't voted the best dj!?!.....That went to Proteus :roll: .....Some right joke results there if you ask me!

yeah i thought the remix was not that bad but i would never buy it as i have the scot project mix which is loads better!

Don't mind Dark by Design but to me it sounds like he wants to play german hardstyle but cause he's signed to tidy he has to make it a little bit hardhousey ie the kick drums and for me it just doesn seem to work one way or the other gaz and its obvious which way ye want to go. Hes seen the light lads its just a mater of time :nono:

I was releases round a year ago. I listened to it on www.germantrance.com
it was called "Dark By Design & Phil York - Uknown"

I havent found it anywhere. It might be one of thoose "white labels"
In the break there was a female vocal. Can rmebber the words but it was really bright.

Anyone has an idea!?
