This is a question that many might have... There are some preety good devices, but most of them don't fit our specific needs.

Please give your oppinion about "What should a DIY midi controller for Live have"

Cheers

midibox diy controllers can have anything you want :)

I always crap on about them but credit where credit is due. Thorsten is the king of geeks (which means he's cool).

They should have:

* mixture of BIG and little knobs (big ones for mostly tweaked functions)

* enough space for your fingers

* be small enough for transportation

* logically layed out

* plenty of visual feedback (proper labels, could be printed/vinyl cut... lcd screen and plenty of leds showing button/switch status)

* sequence position feedback (for example a counter that counts bars and beats up to a specified number. You can change amount it counts up to)

could keep going but it would get expensive :)

Well, i'm trying to build one based on the ucapps.de projects.

Komplex, I completely agree with you! In fact i've chosen most of the stuff you posted.

I guess this could become really expensive if i choose to have motored faders and knobs...

I already sketched it, but i dont know how to put an image here, cause i dont have any host.

anyone has a clue about it?

Cheers

You can host images at www.imageshack.us.

Kenton Control Freak seems to fill most shoes IMHO.

how about 3 knobs for EQs plus a fader for the channel x 6?
