View Full Version : MANKIND
what do people think of this swedish label (nowadays and back then)??
I must say that in my opinion mankind 1-5 where the best you could and can get from Johan Bacto himself, they were hard, minimal. Just really fine! But nowadays i dont buy stuff of them anymore, they've lost the agressiveness in their sound. its unfortunately but true...
come on people, anyone who has mankind series 1-5?? (i only got 2 and 3, mankind 2 was the best they've ever released i think)

Earlier ones were better alright although the last Skoog one (No.16) was quite good. They've done a few top releases, like Skunkworks though their records aren't really pushing it the way they used to. The best stuff these guys are doing is now on Sway, Zync can sometimes be worth keeping an eye on too. Much of the Swedish sound has become a lot clubbier alright, it's not as raw as it was..

sway #4:hertz,alone and by myself, skunkworks 18:hardcell,vortac and shape by grindvik and hardcell are three of the finest swedish techno records you'll hear
id also recommend the grindvik and hardcell ive pa which is available on the illegal stockholm website and can also be found on most file sharing services

i don't recommend it as it sounds like it recorded through a mic on the wrong side of a speaker.

the 30 minute one was safe. this new one.. i don't recommend.
although.. i haven't much liked anything by hardcell since skunk 15 (one of my faves last year). this new inside record with the mull remixes sounds like a nice record. his primate remix of that silver track is the best one on the ep.. not what i play though.

Mankind 7 rocks, but it's the only one I've heard. I have one of the earlier ones too but it's only got one good track on it.
