anyone got any tips on designing that classic gated angel sound that was used in so many tunes back in the day.
i usually try and emulate it with a nice modulated string sound on novations V-station and drive it through the appregaitor.
ive also used some of the synth sounds on my soundcard as an alternative but ive never managed to hit the nail on the head!!!!
any help appreciated

the answer is midi automation.
master volume midi, you just have to draw in the volume on/off pattern in the volume automation section of the track, thats if its a vst synth your using. for audio there are gating vst fx availible that provide the same function synced to midi clock that you just have to stick into an insert channel.
