SK0RCH info-
"I like to play techno that engages you but is still tough enough to make you
want to dance. Since March 2004 I've been handing out a mix almost every
month at the end of Dogma. I started off with "Demotester" to see if my tune
selection and style of mixing was any cop. Folk seemed to like it so that
encouraged me to try and make it a regular thing.
I'm looking forward to playing, this'll be my first outing this year! Its going to
be a Sk0rcher!!! (boom boom!)"
Dean Rodell info -
A true veteran of the underground music scene in England and no
stranger to the world of techno, Dean Rodell first stepped into the
electronic music culture back in the early 90s. This soon eventually
led him into the production world and by the summer of 2000 he
began making loop based techno. Since then he has built up a
reputable name for himself with his productions through his two
record labels, Unknown Forces and Drumworks, and by having
support from established producers like Glenn Wilson, The
Liberators and Funk D'Void.Dean had produced under the
aliases of Stortion, Gardel, Elliot Spencer, The Lens,
Dogs of Dub, Unknown Audio and done numerous collaboration
work with Jim Fish, Glenn Wilson, Patrik Skoog and Jason Swales.
Now with releases on high profile labels such as Compound,
Submissions, Pounding Grooves, Humanoid, Goathead and Giant &
Dwarf, Dean's sound is set to keep pushing the front runners of
the scene. The progression from the studio to the live environment
came after having the opportunity to play at the infamous Fridge
Club in Brixton (end of 2003) and this encouraged him to focus
his efforts on doing the live performances. Now armed with his
mobile studio and his knowledge of the ways of the dancefloor,
Dean's live acts are set to reflect the solid percussive journeys
we have come to expect from his productions.
Those who saw him last year at jakN know he's defo one of the
best live sets on the planet, so we gladly welcome him back to
grace the jakN stage once again.
