OK so I've got all my new samples in this folder called Track 01 Bass1 Track 02 Bass2 etc etc up to Track 3240. And I just want to get rid of the Track 01 rubbish at the beginning. I read somewhere before there's like a good batch renamer for the pc. Any ideas??

Can it?

Every time I've looked at batch files etc. they've seemed so limited I've ended up running away at high speed.

That's why I've got cygwin tools etc. installed.

Cygwin Tools (http://www.cygwin.com/)

It's a full GNU environment compiled for windows.

So, basically, you get a bourne shell, + all the usual UNIX / Linux commands (grep, ls, ps etc. - as well as the powerful UNIX-style regular expressions), and all the benefits of shell scripting, without actually running Linux.

You can run most Linux software on it too, so long as you don't mind compiling it.
