y'know what XXX.
it's the ditributors,
they just will not sell our stuff to german records shops.
how about we put a petition together and hassles the b a sta rds!

that's actually not so bad an idea..
how do we do it!
davethedrummer

well i suppose we do it on the net like a chain letter
just get the petition question together
and send it out over the net to everyone you can think of
get the replies and forward them to the distributors
plus mail them and telephone them and generally badger them
until someone gives up ( remember you are dealing with distribution companies here, they don't give up easy.)
but neither do we
**** them!
they all drive home listening to eminem in their bmw's
who the hell are they to judge what the future of european techno is?

Henry, which distribution you going thru? I mean my 4x4 record made it out to germany, surely your stuff goes out thru Neuton (I'm assuming that you've got some sort of hook up with SUF for hydraulix), or is that just what Julian sorted for 4x4? Surely you don't need petitions, it should be just a matter of calling them up, going "Why arn't my records beig sold in germany" and if they don't seem to sort it out, get in touch with Neuton or EFA and sort out some distribution for germany....

And this leads me to another point, the distribution companies should be there to serve the labels and artists, not the other way round, unfortunatly these days it seems like distribution companies assume that labels are there just to make them money, and it's easy for them to put labels in this position if they've given people a P+D deal... then THEY'RE in control of the situation... if you pay for your own cut and press, then YOU have the power to turn round and tell the distributor to get stuffed if they're doing a crap job, and take your business elsewhere...
I have a bit of an axe to grind on this one!!!
