i found when mixing over a break the beat slams back in
out off sink resulting in a train wreck, meaning i will have to wait till this break is over
or mix it out b4 the break starts....

the problem with burkat's sound (and also occasionally lars klien) i find is that things change on the 16 and sometimes the 8 (god help me!!!).. the advent are a bugger for this too.

you've really got to have practiced mixes when you use these guys' records. ok great, but sometime you just don't want to practice to this precise extent and i think they alienate loads of ppl because of it.

my thoughts anyway!!

I like the rush I get when I drop a track I haven't listened to all the way, and all hell breaks loose in the middle, and somehow I pull it back together. But most of the time it just sounds like an elephant is farting through the sound system. then it's just one record and the moment is gone. I say, keep the dj's on their toes, producers! It's easy to program a set when every record follows the same cookie-cutter pattern. However, I hated when every hard house track waited one extra beat after the breakdown to come back. It's a nice trick occasionally, but when a whole genre does it, then it's boring and cliche.

Yes, it does work well when tunes always change on 32s - but IMHO tunes should be able to do whatever they want and still sound impressive in the mix.

but for me playing on three decks i find these kinda tunes(the offbeat ones)
unuseable tottaly// i hated those carl max and burkat tunes that shit ur mix up//really
find them not dj friendly and i dont mix them//

i like to know that certain track is moving abit//or just slips offf the mix for like a 05.5 milisecs// that is reasonable and i can manage with that.

I enjoy surprises on 2 decks. It keeps me on my toes since playing on 2 isn't too much to worry about after I learned how to play on three.

On three however, I am not too fond of crazy surprises. It is apt to get messy.

when you play on 2 decks you can pretty much mix anything into anything, on three you gotta really plan your set and practice it
