How do you change VST emulation??? FOR OLD PLUGINS

I can't remember what it is properly called, but this is my problem anyway. I have a vst plug which is kind of old, however, it crashes SX everytime I load it. I have been told that in SX you can change the VST emulation or whatever so that it conforms to VST1 protocols rather than VST2 which is the default for SX2. Can anyone elaborate on what I need to do to get this plug working??? The plugin is Yellow Tools Culture. I have looked in the manual, and SX2 Power and can't find any clues as to how this is done. Thing is, I remember doing it before, but have forgotten what I need to do...
