The 100m shouldn`t be confused with the smaller system 100
The system 100 was a 3 piece modular kit.

The 100m is an infinitely exapandable monster modular bookoo schwingtastic noise machine-o-rama

Imagine having a synth like that.
Man every time you used it, you`d have to put on a white lab coat, mess your hair up, and put on big bottle end specs.
You`d just have to.

On the Osbournes?
Pretty sure it was a Korg MS-20.

bit of a monster the system 100m isnt it?
there was a moog modular system too which was equally huge
and an arp i think but i never saw one.
talking of large ols synths the fairlight ,one of the first samplers,
was about the size of a wardrobe.
lawrie only has the one rack of the system 100m
but its got all the best bits in there
honestly it just does make great noises.
you can just plug it in and it'll wibble away to itself all day
another synth worth a mention is the ems vcs3
with a " battleships " style plug board patchbay
totally bizarre!

We got one of these
http://www.sonicftp.com/synth/lcasesynth/1376.jpg
It was originally made by ETI systems, but was later released as a kit in the early 80`s by Maplin electronics.
and one of these
http://membres.lycos.fr/hhh/SYNTHES/NonMidi/Images/Maplin_5600.jpg
http://www.jam.se/images/maplinPB.jpg
great synths, utilised patchboards too.
Only runs on CV though, and we never did get them retro fitted, but they make lovely noises.
