SCOTT KEMIX / DISTEK / JONNY SMART
SOUL STEALING EP
MORE PUNK THAN FUNK 004
Three hard but rhythmic tracks fly out North Wales on the latest more Punk Than Funk… which all hit the spot as far as I’m concerned!
Scott Kemix on the A serves up the meatiest cut which is incessantly pounding, while completely losing you in its hypnotic groove.
Distek provides us with his trademark cuts and edits and a pulsating beat which will drill its was across the floor in a pneumatic fashion, while its metallic stabs and robotic percussion will have you bouncing uncontrollably around the room.
Jonny Smart rounds things off with a mighty fine loop and a moody atmospheric synth which complements it perfectly. K1

SOUL STEALING EP
MOREPUNKTHANFUNK (uk) mptf004
More Punk than Funk delivers yet another pounding Techno release, which captures everything that’s great about the UK Underground Techno scene today.
Scott Kemix gives us a typically brutal loopy cut while Distek shows why he’s fast become a much respected name in the scene with more perfect stabs and edits in a style he’s making his own.
Jonny Smart finishes things off with the strongest track I’ve heard from him, a European influenced shuffling tribal thang.
**** RECOMMENDED
