what oldbugger said

Of course, every page of Myspace content contains adverts - and Mr Murdoch left his listeners in no doubt that their books would bleed red ink unless they found ways of exploiting the boom in online advertising.
And most importantly, Myspace has detailed logs of its users' preferences, online behaviour and personal information.
i don't feel like sharing my info and sponsering murduch

Yea **** that, no intentions of joining myspace and I think it should be boycotted. The only reason he owns it is so it can used to gather information and use it for profiling people. Once the profiles are built then they will be used in online advertising campaigns aimed purely at the individual. I think the fact that most people are willing to forget that, and the fact that Murdock has a big influence in right wing word agenda, shows that were living in a narcissistic society. A place where people would rather feel looked at than give a shit about anything else
Myspace, News Corp says, could drive traffic to Fox Interactive Media.
And most importantly, Myspace has detailed logs of its users' preferences, online behaviour and personal information.
That could help the company tailor what it does to the ever-more-discerning market which Mr Murdoch believes he has identified.]
If you feel you would rather be watched by the herd, join the rest of the cattle. If not choose to watch for other reasons, to see the unfolding system from the outside->in

i think some people should just not take EVERYTHING so seriously sometimes, i couldnt give a toss who owns it, and by that arguement, then why do people have their own artists websites? strange one that, of course you want people to take an interest in your music and myspace is a great way to do that, ive already had a couple of label's get in touch and ask for ep's simply from them checking myspace or their friends redirecting them to the page, so yeah why wouldnt you want that? very odd, just because some yank who plans to send some spam owns it?
lifes too short kids, its a bit of fun and a good promotion tool, nothing more, nothing less

If bin laden owned it would you still use it? Actually don’t answer that, some people have principals, some don’t. If you find that odd, then I find you odd, very odd

as i said, i dont care who owns it. Using Bin Laden is hardly what id call a good example daniel san, as im quite sure that Bin Laden will never, ever own myspace. There's somewhat of a difference between a mega rich media tycoon and the leader of a terrorist organisation responsible for god knows how many deaths.
I would of thought you'd of used myspace to be honest, it really is a great promotional tool and there are plenty of respectable techno artists on there too and a great techno community group
