Yep.. I know there is another topic for monitors, but I'm solely looking for MINI monitors

Scenario is, I bought some Diamond 8.2s last year and am well well happy with them, however, in two weeks I'm leaving the country for some time, and am likely to be travelling round for a while, however I would really like to take some quality monitors with me, and the Diamonds are too heavy

So I am looking for as small as possible monitors (in fact small isn't such an issue as weight)

So far I've seen the Genelec 8020s and Samson 50 ones, can anyone suggest others?

Looking for monitors under 5kg a piece with goood quality..

Thanks in advance!

i've also been having a listen to loads of small monitors.

i've narrowed it down to the krk's mentioned above (the rp5's)
and fostex pm 05, but i can't decide which ones to get

has anybody had any reliability problems with any of these manufacturers ?

pmc db1's. i just got the bigger tb2's and they are definately the most accurate and tight monitors i've used in the price range i was looking at... i a/b'd them with adams, genelecs, emes, krk's and others and they easily came out on top in the end.

Had a listen to the db1's and they sounded pretty nice too - just too small for me...

they look impressive, but bloody expensive for me, im not that serious about producing music yet

so i'll stick to fostex or kroks for now

I`d go for the fostex over the krk`s if I was you dan.
They seem to translate the mid range a touch more clearly, and the bass has more accurate definition.

Gutted gutted gutted gutted gutted.

So hectic before I left the UK and didn't sort it and really really regret it now, although i nearly had to pay £100 excess baggage anyway :-/

Have to find some out here now. Thanks for the tips above tho everyone, it gives me an idea of what to look out for, though at first glance it really seems there's no decent monitors available instore here :bash:
