The 65D Mavericks return to LOST sadly without RICHARD POLSON who recently passed away. The spirit of this LOST party is to honour his memory, his music and show that he is still very much in our hearts and minds. Most of the line up has strong links to Richard and they are here to show him how much he still means to them. His production partner Nick Dunton plays live under their 65D Maverick name, the man who he co-founded Blueprint with, James Ruskin DJs, Oliver Ho DJs as the third member of the Blueprint nucleus, Steve Bicknell released his and Nick¹s material as Spirit on LOST recordings and everyone on the line up knew Richard either personally or musically. His spirit lives on in all of us. May his journey through the stars be peaceful.
JEFF MILLS makes a welcome return to LOST in what is his 14th year DJing and pushing the boundaries of music/art/film at London¹s techno landmark. Both Jeff and LOST share a long history in pioneering both new music and visual ideas and LOST has been a continuous UK home for his and Steve Bicknell¹s innovative projects and of course great parties! An uncompromising pioneer both as a DJ and producer his electrifying DJ sets have become the stuff of legend and his music concepts the benchmark of modern electronic innovation.
SLEEPARCHIVE is a name that already humbles the most discerning DJs &
producers. His minimal aesthetic has quickly gone from an underground Berlin secret, championed by Hawtin & the like, to international minimal icon.
Started at the end of 2003 and inspired by labels like Sähkö and artists
like Plastikman, Sleeparchive creates his vision of minimal music built from often not more than 3 sounds and effects. His live sets are the stuff of legend & the label that is run through Hardwax consistently sells out. This is the first time he has played for LOST and will be an eagerly anticipated live set.
Since beginning his musical career in the early 90s JAMES RUSKIN has
continued to push the limits of electronic music through his uncompromising releases. In 1995 James set up Blueprint records with Richard Polson and "First Contact" by Outline was released by the pair early 1996. James' first album "Further Design" was released on Blueprint in 1997, and this paved the way for two further albums for Berlin's Tresor Records, "Point 2" released in 2000 and "Into Submission" in 2001 which helped secure him worldwide recognition. James's renowned dj sets have taken him to Japan, South America, Australia and some of the best events in Europe, special performances include a new venture with Karl O' Connor (Regis) as "O/V/R" and this new project will include a joint digital / live performance and the launch of a new online medium, "theantination.com" where exclusive mixes, tracks and merchandising will be available. James is currently busy preparing new material with Regis and recording a fourth album for Blueprint.
SURGEON will be joining LOST little more than a week after his alternative
set at their more intimate weekly residency Spacebase at London¹s Plastic
People. Surgeon (Anthony Child) has been at the forefront of UK techno since exploding onto the scene on the Downwards label in 1994 and since then he has traveled the world DJing and released three albums on Tresor in the late 90s. Now running his own Dynamic Tension and Counter Balance labels he also forms one half of the revered (even feared) British Murder Boys alongside long time friend and producer Regis (Karl O¹Connor). Expect more explosive stuff from Birmingham¹s finest.
Following the success of his initial vinyl releases on London's reputable
blueprint label, OLIVER HO has established himself as one of the world's
most creative electronic producers. His own "meta" imprint continues to
develop a personal outlook and individual vision of music whilst frequent
DJing appearances in both the UK and abroad enable Oliver to take his
powering textural rhythms directly into the clubs, enhanced further by live
drum machine and sampler interaction. having established the organic
direction of meta, oliver ho, with his second label, "light & dark",
explores the mutation between rhythmic music and ambient tonal sound whilst
recently his Birdland project has shown a more house styled approach. Over
the years Oliver has remixed many artists such as Adam Beyer, DJ Funk, Ben
Sims, DJ Krush and many more. 2004 saw the release of Oliver's third album
"The Soft Machine" and his musical future is looking very bright.
After following the seemingly amazingly familiar UK path of electro/hip
hop/acid house/techno it has now been nearly 19 years since PAUL MAC started
DJing and he has been producing for nearly 12, having recorded for over 50
labels and with nearly 120 release¹s to his name. The past couple of years
have seen Paul¹s profile raise dramatically thanks mainly to high profile
releases on Sino, Intec, Theory, Tronic, and Ingoma plus a handful of tours
to the likes of Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Japan and his residency¹s at
the Split and Retro-vert parties in London. Paul has recently released his
third studio album for Ben Sim¹s Ingoma label and continues to DJ around the
world.
MAX DULEY has his own unique style and vision of what techno music is. Dark,
atmospheric, mysterious, deep and above all: an understanding that it is
music without boundaries. Through his own ARC and ARC(ANE) label releases he
has carved his own way into electronic music and his DJ sets embrace the
whole spectrum of electronic music. This DJ set marks a welcome return for
one of Cosmic Records nom de plumes.
They will of course be joining LOST resident and anchorman STEVE BICKNELL,
no doubt, previewing new material forthcoming on his Cosmic and Lost
Recordings imprints.
sound & vision
STEVE BICKNELL will present a KIM BILIR sound/film set in this area joined
by STEVE STASIS spinning a more alternative collage in the 2nd Area.
