Since I observed the topics on this forums going into the what kind of toilet paper you use discussions, I figured let me bring the topic back to the music. So who do you thinks got the talent right now?

some small rectification : carl finlow is from uk but he moved to paris.
funny you quote as upcoming guys already famous names most of the time... ill try to give a selection of people who are not *that* known but who will probably be more and more.
france : john thomas : too bad hes still taken as upcoming guy coz he suffers of laurent garnier and jack de marseille fame over here. this guys is good producer, and one of the most amazing djs ive ever heard. you should also watch out for the french/italian duo "moody preachers" hteyre getting really really hot, but there not still very famous.
sweden : well here i agree with you all, grosk is the man. check also tobias's von hofsten illegal-sthlm label, hes also one of the few swedes who makes "non swedish" sound...
nort hspain/slovakia : you all know the dudes (wunsch, reeko, olga+jozef, rumenige, mulero etc).. they make great stuff and are getting mroe and more find... but they have to renew their sounds, they begin to be very boring for those who have been following them since the beggining.
uk: i have no clue of "upcoming" names. surgeon (as DJ) does very creative sets since he has FS.
asia : i would say stringrays (eric woon)
holland : oh yeah joris voorn is da man !!! you really have to remeber this name.
germany : ive heard some sets by vladimit ikovic.... amazing, really really good... iv ehear he started to promote parties with another guy called markus and that their nite are already always packed.
i tried to avoid the most famous & obvious names coz youve all mentionned them.

Chris is a good mate of mine, and he is doing very well for himself now. He's playing all the big clubs and has bagged himself an Atomic Jam residence. Fair play to him i say, he is a talented Dj and the most down to earth bloke i know, he's up for a laugh and weve had some good nights in clubs, especially Atomic Jam and Creamfields was a laugh aswell.
other new talent that im into include the german lot, especially Natus, Amok and Wittekind. These boys really do rock, theyve been producing some of the best brutal techno that ive heard in a long time.
other djs that have impressed me include Jerome Hill and strangely enough Erol Alkan. He plays a wikid style, its not techno but he plays some really good stuff.

ohh i totally forgot about John Thomas!!! This guys really really really good too!!!
Plus i may as well add rising Canadian techno stars as well...
Mateo Murphy is by far the best producer i have heard coming out from Canada. I dont know why but Montreal is really beginning to breed a new generation of talented techno producers and rocking DJ's.

There are plenty of innovative producers in so called
other electronic genres but as far as techno goes We are still waiting!
The last decent techno record (dancefloor) was Surgeons BMB no1
nothing else has touched it since.
The rest is just fodder.

Of course i listen to it, but it's in one ear out the other.
I don't want to be so cynical, but i've been listening to techno/electronic
whatever you want to call it since f***k knows when, probably 1981.
And it's becoming a bit stagnant, or i'm just getting old ;)
BTW. How old are you?

Old enough to have kids and pay your bills for you. :rambo:
