July sees AR’s 1st Birthday, and after 10 events we thought that we’d go all out on this one. So, expect lots of musical mayhem and party shenanigans galore.

Jason Leach might be more commonly known as one half of Subhead (alongside Phil Wells), an outfit synonymous with producing, off-centre, dancefloor-based material.

Famed for their 'Growth' parties, in and around London warehouses, their name rather appropriately, was created during one of these events aboard a Russian submarine, and for a while had Jaime Lidell of Super Collider fame as a third member.

Alongside Jason's obvious techno leanings, you hear can nods and hints towards a love of hip-hop, breakbeat, punk, electro and rave.

Jason now records on his own for labels such as Mercurochrome, Fix and Neue Heimat and is part of the band House of Fix as well as continuing to record with Phil as Subhead.

Shelley Parker, first began playing when she started out with the art-inspired electro night, 'Nerd'. As co-promoter and resident DJ, Shelley fused influences from her art school background with her discerning taste in electro pop, acid house and electronica.

Special guests included numerous visual artists who were invited to try their hand at the decks. They would play alongside established electronic artists such as Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner), Ladytron and Tokyo Windbag. This inspiring mix ensured diverse and innovative music, which is the core of Shelley's musical philosophy.

A year since joining the Haywire roster, Shelley has continued to explore electronic music, developing her style to a point where she can play effortlessly alongside the likes of Depeche Mode's Andy Fletcher, Miss Kittin and Blackstrobe's Ivan Smagghe.

Focusing on her current electro bass and minimal techno influences, Shelley can also play a much harder and darker set. Inspired by the underground club nights where she has played at alongside artists and DJs such as Debasser, Radioactive Man, Magda and Rephlex's Plasticman.

Shelley also regularly plays at Haywire events and many London clubs, such as Fabric, the Egg and the 333. She is a regular on the internet radio show gaialive.com, where she plays a mix of breaks, grime and techno. She has also contributed to Electric City's Power FM.

Shelley is currently taking her musical endeavours to the next level by working on a debut album. It's a project which fuses Found Sound with Techno, Electro and Bass.

The Bass Invaders, Bob and Colin, met in 2001 at an afterparty following TEST in Glasgow. Since then they have been putting on parties in Glasgow with guests that include Neil Landstrumm, Bill Youngman, Jerome Hill, Knifehandchop and many more. In 2003 they began to perform live twisted, ‘Bass’ techno, on a complete hardware setup.

In 2004 Bob had relocated to London but this did not stop the duo. Their sets where always impromptu as neither had heard each others material. This gave them a very ‘live’ feel with every set always being different.

Last year the pair were able to write together again following Colins decision to move to London, and they are still playing in a very live and unscripted manner.
