Henry, I really really really need to know what the fu*k the sample in Hydraulix #19 is. It's driving me mad! (like a splinter in my mind...)

It's the side with the trumpets and carnival vibe. Just before the break theres a vocal thats played at the wrong speed. Who is that?

I've chucked the tune on 45 rpm and the vocal sounds how it was originally, but who the hell is it? I'm 99% sure its someone from the 80's, but who?!

christ !

ok question 1
don't know , sorry it's off an accapella record along with the matrix thing i used , so it's not the original voice but a resung recreation of it
it says " everyday of my life " over and over and i played it at the wrong speed by mistake and it fitted, weird but true

question 2.
it was a pro one with a lot of reverb on it.

question 3
its actually ritchie hawtin and john aquaviva in a bizarre cut up interview about techno .
it's a "secret" track on the end of the fuse album
"dimension intrusion " released on warp records in 1993/4
( only on the cd version )

it says

" wow , this sounds incredible"
" it just gets a groove going"
"and like more repetative"
"and like, more repetative "

there you go
now sod off out of my garden and take your binoculars with you...

and mind the gnomes

i have few questions for Mr. Dave The Drummer:

all about one your used before aliases named "Dr. Octopus"

Only on german Millenium label we can find this one aliase,
ive found only one official vinyl release by Dr Octopus there, it was:

http://www.discogs.com/release/177555 - Dr Octopus & Dr Octopus (Quazar Remix),

but ive found three diferent tracks aka Dr. Octopus on Millenium label
but all were released only on CD, compilations, version:

http://www.discogs.com/release/157996 1) Headman - Butterfly (Dr Octopus Remix)
http://www.discogs.com/release/18345 2) Dr. Octopus - Blipvert
http://www.discogs.com/release/135325 3) Dr. Octopus - Odyssey

Question is:

1) Why Dr. Octopus ?
2) Who did Quazar Remix ? Its by Dave The Drummer ?
3) All these three tracks from CDs were released only on CD
or they were also released on vinyl (limited version, or maybe on another one label) ?
4) How many tracks were produced by Dr. Octopus ?

and one more intresting thing with one ive found,
on this last cd compilation we can find more not well known tracks,
one was made by geezer & dave the drummer and named
"Watchman - All Funked Up"
unfortunately i never heard this one and like all rest ones from Millenium label
(except dr. octopus release on vinyl with one i got).

Yes, you have right, its all cuz i love studing discogs and there ive found this all informations about,

also i agree with jeremy, dr. octopus tune was one of the best acid trance tune released ever so next one unknown (unknown for most acid heads here) tunes by dr.octopus looks very potential :cheese:
always nice to get some more informations, be more rich in head.

I spent ages going through Discogs myself many years ago working out who used what alias and what labels they produced tracks on. Found some mad remixes and tracks tucked away on some seriously obscure labels. It's all good if your that into your acid!

Proper geek me, and a true vinyl addict...and proud! :cheese:

i had the same issues tring to figure out the octopus stuff.

bought a CD with the good side of the vinyl on it. i think it's the original mix, not the "Quazar" one. the "Quazar" mix doesn't do much for me, unless the label is wrong.

i also noticed that there were a couple other Octopus tunes, but i could never find the CDs.

COME ON Henry, please fill us in!
