theres a harware controller to go with it. its basically an exact replica of the original but without the tapes. i can then rip the tunes off the tapes, load them into the supplied software as 26kps mp3 and away i go :cheese:

Well i luckilly have no need to switch on my controller, boot up my pc, log on, load the controllers drivers, click on my audio app, load the plugin, assign the knobs, rip the tapes, convert the formats and then hope it doesnt crash.
I just flick the on switch. ;)

Its not cassette boy, its this russian dude, he built his entire set up. The tape decks, the mixer, I think he might even have built his headphones, cant remember. He's probably from the depths of siberia or something, and thats the most hi tech set up for miles around. Although I think he probably did this for a bit of fun, because he seems to know the crack with computers, and a copy of some sort of mp3 dj program wouldent cost much more than all the components he has used for his kit. Check out his website, there is an english option, his english isnt fantastic but you get the idea, I think the guys an absolute legend!

I wonder if anyone has ever booked him? He claims to be into techno and house and other stuff. I've never had much success trying to download his mix because its broken up into 12 segments or something, but if he's any good it would be well funny to get him over playing some banging on a tape deck!

Perhaps he would be willing to swap for a pair of Gemini belt drives.
