speed it up to 176 bpm for some d'n'b ish flava...
just joking - nice and different - not necessarily techno, though...
more breaks-style. nice atmo, as usual! only one sound i need to get used to in it - this vocalish 'i-o' - 'a-o' where do you get strings like that mate, esp. those at the very end?? they are so gooooood :)

Nice track man.
Someone a while back suggested a pro's con's review style. I really liked this idea, so.....
Pro's
Like force said, has a good cinematic feel, nice use of drama and tensions
Production quality is high, nice interplay between samples and synths
Develops well structrually
Good use of stereo
Nice dirty vinyl crackle feel to it.
Con's
For a downbeat track I would have liked to have seen a few more elements come in and out, and a little more variation
Might be just the headphones I have to listen on, but seemed a little lacking in depth in the bass, and sparkle in the high end
Progression was a little formulaic and predictable, would personally liked to have seen a few curve balls come in rhythmically or melodically. Tad repetative for this style...
Overall I really liked it. If you had some video to back it with I think it would be excellent, builds atmos and sets a certain tone, just sounds a little like a backing track as is.

Nice one Jay, thanks alot for the in depth feedback the cons are very helpfull, will look in to what you said about the bass end but the top end is supposed to be a bit crusty and dull so I was kinda trying to stay away from any sparkle:)
Will see what I can do about the repitition.
Thanks to all who have listend:)

cheers dude.
The main strings are done with "HQ software synthesizer - Orchestral" which is very realistic for Orchestral shit(I feel)
All other sounds(appart from drums and bassline)were done with "Native Intruments - Metaphisical function" and "Absynth" then bounced down to audio then processed in the way I usualy do with atmos and strings : )

hay man, it's very very nice. really like the idea of whole track.i easily see it with some picture on it. see that u like playing with edirol HQ. it would be the best if u could try some vienna banks or sonic implants in combination with GS3.. 4 me they r working best for film and orchestral kind of staff, because they have very realistic sound of whole string sections.. much better than edirol 4 ma taste... if u try it u will be addicted... all the best m8 and keep cookin' :)

Sounds almost like Amon Tobin wrote this. If you've heard his soundtrack off Splinter Cell you'll know what I mean. Strings are nice, but I think you need to possibly reduce the attack on the gain a bit... Also the metalic pad in the background doesn't really do it for me that much. Works for a while, then it starts to sound like the MP3 has been encoded at a low bitrate, especially when the strings are playing solo. I like degraded sounds, but I'd reccomend fading it in and out or something.
Nice track.

I like it, its dark but it take a long time to get going then doesn't get going much when it does. I suppose its like a lot of people say, good for a film score but not for general listening to. Not in my eyes.
