Moulded all the way... can't be dealing with those weird alien spikes coming out my ears. Prefer good ole foam to them.

I've had the professional earplug that were injection moulded as a custom form. Hidden all the way inside my ear and have a beauty drop of 25 db with no "muffling" or weird eq changes. I can stand right in the bassbins and get pelted by audio and not have any ringing in my ears when I leave the event.

I think mine were around $125.00 usd. They have removable filters in the middle though so I can purchase other decibel reduction levels to put in them. My mother in law is an audiologist and had some info from the company I checked out before making the purchase and they were stateside here. I was tossing in my info about them being a great investment for those of you thinking about buying them since your ears are one of the most important pieces of being a music lover to protect.

when you get shit shipped to Ireland, they whack a big import tax on it for some reason. i bought a pair of basketball boots a while back and they doubled in price when they arrived coz of the tax. It depends who controls the importing at the time, but it changes from private companies to govt owned 'an post'.
its crap coz it means we cant buy cheaply from Sam Ash or other cheap places. If you have any info on those earplugs id like to have a look, coz i have a friend that could send it as registered post maybe

Got mine for £120, from portland hospital in london.
Dead nice people. Wasn't happy with the fit, so they did them again for free, then thought the reduction was too much so they put less attenuating filters in for free.
Think my filters are made by puretone.

Mine were 190 euro I think. I actually lost a pair in the airport once, I was checking all my 'important' belongings - Money, passport, earplugs etc! while having a quick cup of tea before the flight... Anyway, I left the earplugs on the table somehow... then realised when boarding "oh ****, I don't have them"... so i had to pace back out of the check in lounge to the coffee shop place but the people there didn't know what i was on about, as far as they were concerned anything that was on the table was now in the bin. I didn't have time to argue coz I had a plane to run to and catch, and thought they might still turn up... they didn't though :(

Got another pair straight away when I got back. They're great. Still haven't got used to DJ-ing with them, but any gig I'm at or when I'm in a club, I put them in... there's no nasty shooting ears pains anymore after being in a club, like you can often get.

The offer is for the cheaper generic plugs. not as comfortable for long periods of time/frequen use.

The company sensercom also do custom plugs for around £70, but you need to get the moulds done. you need to get this done by an audiologist or hearing aid fitting specialist. as I'm medically trained and working towards audiology career wise, was gonna look into training up in mould makin and then setting up mobile service to go round events/studios etc if there's interest. in the meantime can get referred via ya GP or try tappin the private health sector direct.

Its dead weird when they do the mould.

When I had mine done they pushed a spongey thing deep into my ear then told me "this may make you cough"
While I was puzzling over what the hell they were talking about I suddenly had an unexpected coughing fit.

For some bizarre reason there's a nerve that stimulates your cough reflex near your eardrum.

I've got the ER 15's mate they are really comfy. Did it take you a while getting used to them while you were playing out in clubs Mark?
