FRAN HARTNETT
Techno DJ Fran Hartnett has been pushing innovative dance music in Irish clubs and underground parties for over ten years.
For many years Fran played using the alias ‘Azrael’, and since his first club residency at the legendary ‘Genius’ nights in The Kitchen in 1998, he has played at too many Dublin clubs to mention, and also at numerous clubs and raves nationwide. More recently he has travelled to Scotland and Slovakia to DJ.
He dropped the name ‘Azrael’ in 2004 after discovering on the Internet that there were too many ‘DJ Azrael’s in the world! Since then he has opted to use his real name instead.
Fran has played for promoters Funktional, Rotation, Ignition, Atomsoul, Logic, Creation, Rosman, D.E.A.F., Techno.ie, Let Loose, Fahrenheit 451, Electrico Bastardo, Electric Circus, K-os.net, Electric City, Technosis, Audiocircuit, TechnoLogic, Utility, Loose Electrix, Teknowarfare, Compression, Bigger Picture, Nice & Nasty and Technotic, Teknowarfare among others.

A few years ago Fran began building a studio and making his own music. He plans to release his first EP on 12” vinyl before the end of the year. He says it will be of a similar style to the techno he plays as a DJ, which he describes as “heavy percussive dancefloor material - but fresh, forward thinking and often emotional. Techno is about the future and originality…”

ZEFER
Just back from playing in Morocco's big Festival "Rythms of Peace" Fer got signed by YAGE records (Sweeden).
Fer is the resident Dj of Neutronyx and old Moonemotions. He started Djing with the new century in year 2000 and he has a good real mixing technique so beat matching and music selection is so natural for him.

His sets fill the dance floor up playing either Cds or Vinyl or both in the same set creating the backwards effects from the turntable and introducing Samples (without abusing) using the Cue buttons of CDj (cdj1000 up to 3) with any mixer creating unique versions of the themes. Nowadays his sets are with 2cdjs and a Pioneer EFX-1000 machine flying always in his BAG with the most wanted Tunes.
His Style is FULL-ON "A powerful set trying to put a smile on the people on the dancefloor and giving no rest at all.."
Shared Stage with many of the big names in the psy scene including EAT STATIC & John 00 Fleming up in Belfast or Dublin with CPU, Eskimo, Shane Gobi, John Phantasm,CONsequencer,INDIKA, MECHANIX, NEUROMOTOR, Kristian and many more big psy acts. At the moment is getting ready a live act together with an Irish producer so more and more to be expected for the time coming.

CUBE
Cube are Sam Brady and Graham Teeling, both live in Dublin, Ireland

Sam speaking: "We've both been producing music seperately using hardware samplers/synths and the like for the last 7 odd years. We havent always been as dedicated as we are now though. Graham has been a mate of mine since we were 12 but we only began to collaborate our stuff in may 2004. I dont know how to categorise it myself... we've been donned 'Techno' by most, but have also been been booked as Electro, Progressive Techno, Pyschadelic Trans... i could go on. i suppose people can call us what they like really. Music we love; Plaid, Underworld, Hystereo (unbelieveable), Chemical Brothers, Vitalic... the list is endless..."

"We've played at all sorts of weird and wonderful locations... a delapitated windmill, Glenart castle, some old Hostel ran by a lovely madman up in Donegal. Mostly at free parties organised by music lovers for music lovers that generate a profit for the soul as opposed to the pocket. We do enjoy having money however so spare change is always smiled upon with an eerily gleeful expression

"I think Cube really started picking up momentum in October 2005 when Teknowarfare (Dublins underground Techno movement) and Neutronyx (Irelands psychadelic Trance engine) showed an interest in us and booked us to play at they're new bi-monthly multi room event 'Planet Underground'... so far we've done 3 of them and they keep getting bigger and better every time. Neutronyx have booked us for Life Festival in june which will be the first Trance/techno Festival of its kind ever in Ireland... ehhh basically we cant wait."

"We havent recorded anything professionally yet. There's no need to put something out right now seeing as we're still fine tuning our sound. plus we dont really have time to take things to the studio with all the gigs coming up. Right now its all about the live stuff. We recently invested in Laptops and Controllers so we're now 20 times more portable then before not to mention 1000000 times more capable of building and editing our tracks, which i think will really make a huge difference in the quality of our sound. Once we get to grips with all the new equipment we'll probably start to think about releasing something

"Our website is still under construction but i'll announce it loudly and clearly as soon as its fit for interaction. until then people can enjoy what we put up on myspace.com or blackout-audio.co.uk"

Cube hardware list: Korg Esx-1, Korg Esx-1, Korg Es-1, Korg Triton Studio, Novation Supernova II, Access Virus C, Access Virus rack, Yamaha O1v

PRODUSE
Produse are Gav OHare and Jamie Clarke who started playing in bands about ten years ago. They started recording together soon after that on old analogue gear and crappy instruments. They then put all their sweety money and any other money they got for doing good deeds around the parish into getting the equipment they needed to make the sort of music they wanted to make. Their sound has gradually progressed over the years into an electronic mix of many styles; from breakbeat to electro to housey stuff to techy stuff to really down beat stuff, other stuff and more stuff, loads of stuff due to the influences of friends, girlfriends and so called friends bombarding them with ideas for much better music. So Produse was born in 2004 when the two boys decided to stick as a duo in the quest for world domination. They settled into their own style of recording and began taking the production and writing more serious, trying to create their favourite type of music and to try something new rather than more of the same; the main aim being to try and create new sounds, and new arrangements of sounds. With a back catalogue of over 50 complete tracks the lads have alot of choice when playing live. They tend to remash their tracks completely for live gigs, changing sometimes downbeat songs into big pounding dancefloor tunes and 4/4 into breaks and visa versa. There live sets usually are a pounding mix of breaks, teckno, electro and many more styles, keeping them busy behind the mass of equipment. The boys use a lot of hardware including synths, drum machines and other outboards, preferring to use hardware with software which is why playing live is such a pain in the ass for them, but also a priority. They have played a number of venues in Dublin and were one of the most popular acts at the now infamous Hospital rave in Glenart castle last Summer. Bodytonic have also been very supportive, giving Produse their first live gig in Wax (having never heard a single thing they had done) and more recently a gig in the live room for Pogo which was a great success. They have played the Temple Bar Music centre live numerous of times including the rockin 05 new years eve 12HANDS event on the main stage. They also played for the Fringe festival in Spirit, Dublin on the main stage in 2005 and have been booked to play the Speigeltent this year on the 23rd of september. They have regulary supported Jim Hutchinson (Soma chief) and Marco Bernandi and soon to be supporting legendary CJ Bolland for 2 dates of his Irish tour Produse have recently got involved with Nice and Nasty record label releasing a handfull of tracks with them. Desy Balmer the man at the top of Nice and Nasty has been working with Produse closely recently. They have remixed a track by Cosmic Groove Transmission with Desy (Remlab) which has been released on US label Eight Tracks. It can be purchased for download on Beatport. They have also played live for Nice and Nasty nights in crawdaddy and the hub numerous times. They have contributed 3 tracks to an up and coming CD titled "3 x 3" where they will be alongside top Irish producers Chymera and Derek Carr in a 9 tracks CD ,(3 tracks by 3 artists). The lads have also contributed a track for the up and coming compilation album titled "Beyond Belfast" from Nice N Nasty records. You can get more information on these releases on www.niceandnasty.net soon The lads are going to be moving into their new studio by the start of next year. Thanks to it being more than four times the size, this means collaborations with more MC's and singers and other musicians (it will eventually fit more than 2).

KODIE
Heavily influenced by the early days of Drum n Bass (roughly circa 95-98), Kodie manages to delve mainly into the deeper, more 'atmospheric' side of Drum and Bass without losing any of that dancefloor energy.

“It really annoys me when people associate atmospheric dnb with just chilling out on Sundays. I love playing out in clubs, because it gives me a chance to prove that you don’t just need pounding beats a nasty basslines to make people enjoy themselves on the dancefloor. So many DJ’s feel compelled to just consistently pound the hell out of the place for the entire night without any real thought or direction… which is a bit of a shame in my opinion. I like to think that my sets take you somewhere”.
