I know this has probably been posted before but i've just moved fro using decks to the might Ableton live & im getting some stick for it.
Now their will always be your vinyl purists & you cd people & suckers for technology like me but does it really matter what format a dj is spinning tunes on as long as their good??
I think that when you us cd or a computer you can do so much more & bring an extra dimention to the dancefloor you can,t with vinyl but i always think that vinyl with have a better sound each has their own different thing but what do you lot think??

Yeah. This has been done to death.

I'll say only one thing about using Abelton.

Please for everyones sake only ever play 320kbs/FLAC or WAV.

i know a guy who plays from final scratch
he normalizes everything he downloads from slsk
mostly 128s

especially progressive house djs

thread topics i hope never to see again:

DJing vs. Ableton
Vinyl vs. Mp3/whatever
Is Jeff Mills/Richie Hawtin god or does he totally suck?

but i seem to be a minority in this, judging from these topics' enduring popularity

Do whatever you want. If you enjoy it, and if others enjoy listening to you, thats all there is.

ermm, who cares? 'djing' (its like hoover or biro now isnt it?) is about getting people to dance to music. I dont care if your using musical christmas cards reprogrammed to play mad cows on acid, if people enjoy it, then its good. like heroin i guess.....

lol.

Donegal is unbelievable.

i darent tell anyone just hopw nice it is - because i dont wanmkers going over there and spoiling it.

my family got a fair few hectares of what can only be described as peat bog overlooking the most craggy beautiful beaches in the world.

really genuinely nice people , who for the most part spoke fluent gaelic. lots of Bobby Sands Photos everywhere.
everyone knew where i lived why i was there.
dram of bushmills and a pint of guiness evereyday down with the Crolly locals.
Went to Leos Tacht for a sing a long.
WEnt shopping in LetterKenny .
i honestly loved it - im going back next year - and if i had my way i would go and live over there.

no sense of time. no worries . no crowds.

im missing a place like i have never before. you live in beautiful country pal.

i kind of get a sense of how difficult it must have been for many Irish to leave such a beuatiful country in order to find work and money over in a shithole like England. the women are beuatiful aswell. unbelivably so.

We should set something up... Mate, lets get on it. All the 'edgy' youth types who like watching that Scotch Egg geezer **** about with his game boy will love it. And then, in 6 months time, threads like this will be titled 'Vinyl vs Greetings Cards'.
