MUSIKLAB 6TH BIRTHDAY
COLLABS SESSION
CHRIS LIEBING
SPEEDY J
5 HOUR JAM
Saturday October 21st – 9.30pm to 2.30am
Ten, John Street, Waterford, Ireland
Ticket info to follow.
Musiklab celebrate six years of gigs and events with a mammoth 5 hour set from two of techno’s finest DJ’s & Producers - Chris Liebing & Speedy J. This is the first time they will play in Ireland as Collabs. The 5 hour jam session will blur the boundaries between playing live & DJ-ing as both artists collaborate and improvise together for the full show. The music is drawn from huge collection of custom loops, tracks and sounds generated during Chris & Speedy J’s studio sessions over the last two years. There will also be other producers music, the last remaining element of DJ-ing in the show, however, everything can be manipulated, morphed, re-arranged & treated on the fly.
Musically expect the focus to be on the sound they have been working on for the Collabs album. Much like the individual sets people know from the duo, except much more dynamic, varied & adventurous. Where long sets by single performers can often be boring a Collabs show keeps the audiences attention, visually the pair working off each other, jamming and improvising together really effects the crowd and the high level of improvisation means no two shows are the same.
