Alexander Robotnick - LIVE [Fuzz Dance - Italy]
Graham O'Sullivan
Simon Conway [electricity]

Admission 8 Euro

This Thursday sees an appearance from the legendary Alexander Robotnick. One
of the godfather's of the Italo Disco sound, Alexander [Maurizio Dami]
scored a massive hit with Problem's D'Amour in 1983. This and his many other
productions on Fuzz Dance and Materiali Sonori were a huge inspiration on
the first wave of Detroit producers and the Chicago Hot Mix 5 crew. People
such as Carl Craig, Thomas Brinkmann, Francois Kevorkian and The Hacker have
all remixed tracks by Robotnick and his music has been sampled countless
times through the years. His records have been bubbling under the surface
for 20 years and now with a renewed interest in the sound of Italo,
Robotnick is back! A new album just released ["Oh No...Robotnick!"] shows
his sound is as fresh as ever and he's ready to show the pretenders to the
crown a thing or two. Alexander will be playing a unique live show
incorporating the use of a laptop, keyboard and vocals. This show is a pure
spectacle and definitely not to be missed.

Support comes from one of Dublin's finest DJ's Graham O'Sullivan. This
ex-Spindizzy man will be playing Electric City for the first time and will
provide the perfect complement to Robotnick's live performance. Starting the
night will be electricity's Simon Conway, DJ'ing with a pen in one hand for
Robotnick's autograph!

One of the best nights I've had this year, anyone who gets the chance to see Robotnick should go, really good fun, old eighties/Italo Disco stuff all night with him playing on the decks and live, getting on the mic occasionally and dancing away. Man's a legend!

Keith Tucker and his other Auxman happened to be in town and spent the whole of Robotnick's set glued to what he was doing and being complete trainspotters!
