Spanish techno superstar Reeko returns to Emergence after a raft of highly-regarded releases on labels such as Symbolism, Mental Disorder, Theory, Deafmosaic, WarmUp, Incentive etc, from which he has gained a reputation in the crowds for being dark but banging. Now it is time for Reeko to showcase his more electronica-laden material, and for this 12" he pulls out all the stops for two tracks of trademark broken techno, atmospheric, and brimming with detail. Though over 2 years old, the two tracks sound as fresh as a pampers-bum. The A-side takes us deep into the docks and breaks it up properly in a somewhat Warp-ish way with beautiful harmonies and many progressions. The B-side is a bit more of a grower, with a steady kick-less rhythm that keeps building under beautiful strings. This is one of the most emotional records out of techno Spain ever - and definitely a worthy step towards the future of Emergence (and techno).
