Does anyone know where i can download some from, or any Sample cd,s that i can buy, im after some D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Geezer style ones i.e hard. Thank you very muchly. :lol:

We are lucky enough to own a 909 so that sorts out SOME of the percussion.

Just a few tips to get you creating truly original sounds and teach you something at the same time.

1. Learn how to create your own BD sounds. Reason's Maelstrum is good for this. As is drum synth (freeware)

2. Get a mic and go around the home sampling slaps, bangs and pots and pans. Transpose em down and bobs your uncle - your sounds, original and proud.

3. Read all you can about drum synthesis....it ll teach you loads.

for some reason beatcreator saves the wav's as bad format when i try opening them in reason :(

good advice mate. very good indeed. ive got drum synth on a cd somewhere, but i have never tried it. anyway i downloaded the program, and im impressed, i can see myself playing around with this baby for sometime. im about to try beatcreator.

i was ok with it despite not having many parameters to play with, thats before i got about 500 runtime errors, and my comp froze 15 times.

i think i'll stick with drumsynth. ;)

try a spot of reverse gated reverb after the touch of distortion with a delay on the reverb of about 100 ms if you are working around 150 bpm

I use a simple free vsti called drumatic 2.2 and it's preatty simple but quite powerfull, but like said b4 maybe it's a little more 4 electronic stuff and maybe not so much pounding/ floor techno!

Forgot to mention.

Fruityloops drumsynth live is also very good for beat creation and is stable when used within fruity :clap:

Also try the microtonic drum synth created by one of the makers of reason.

I cant find the link for this but ill post it later. It sounds good and works very much like drums synth.

TIP : Try syncing the start frequencies, mid point and end freq for your kick drum for getting thos refraction and compression waves to run to tempo......this helps in extracting more power from your poor overworked speaker cones....expecially when combining it with a freq synced bassline.

Its just a matter of finding the tempo which corresponds to a frequency.

not really what i was looking for, but thanks anyway, i think as im learning more about cubase sx and the various vst plugins it going to help me, at the minute im using fruity loops which is better than alot of people give it credit for but obviously not as good as cubase

try linplug rm 4. :) for me very powerful for creating banging kick and bass. also powerfull percussion synths included. it has also sampler pads:) cheers :love:

isn't there one called Stomper by some bloke called Zap or Zip or something that does kick drum samples? These one or two oscillator things tend to create quite electronicy sounding drums ..
