Does such a thing exist these days? The only mixes i seem to find are either hard techno or minimal. Even dirty bass's new stuff is very minimal.
I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with minimal, but i've just listened to too much of the stuff lately (especially considering i was never a big fan to start with) and want some meat and sole back in my music.
Anyone got any recommendations of mixes to download?
failing that, i'll go back to my Muse and Radiohead albums hehe
check james ruskin or surgeon for example. here is also a non-minimal mix http://www.blackoutaudio.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=42194 ^_^

oh crap, thanks for the heads up!
ok, it's a little self serving but I've got some techno mixes that are far from minimal. It's not all totally pounding stuff either but all in the techno to electroish sound, 135 to 140 bpm range and well mixed.
Magnitude- 30 trax, 80 minutes, techno, 2006

Pleasure Shock- mixed in 2003 with some well known harder tunes and some diverse stuff as well

Oi cheeky bollox, talk about putting people in boxes.
This isn`t minimal in the slightest.

I do a bit of everything, minimal, dark, house, hard.
Depends what mood I`m in.
I just do a bit less of the techno techno stuff these days, cos there`s less interest in it at the mo :(

I think you've taken my comments unfairly. You know that I've always been a fan of out output, however the last 3 or 4 mixes Ive downloaded have been very minimal (not mnml or whatever the genre name is) but more along those lines than your older output. It's not a criticism or pigeonholing - it's just an obvservation.
anyway - I'll download this new mix of yours and give it a listen
(excuse the wording - just come back from the dentist and i cant see streight)

Hehe, that was a tongue in cheek reply I made, shoulda used a smiley (but it`s such a hassle on this new BOA interface)
well, you are right, even the voidloss stuff has got more minimal, not mnml, but yeah, it`s a natural progression in production I guess.

ahhhh sorry mate. that's the problem with text - it's emotionless so often hard how to gauge a reply hehe
btw - how do you insert smilies on boa's new interface?

you have to go down to the bottom left of the screen, with the grey box named "posting rules)
Then click the red "smilies are on text"
Then find the smilie you want
Then copy and paste the text.
I mean, I like the new look of this forum, but how ridiculously over awkward is that?

that is awkward. i guess after a while you'll just remember your favourite few :hmm:
failing that - there's always the classic ASCII emoticons like wink ;-)

The Adam Beyer @ Awakenings October mix is pretty good. Two hours of classic drumcode style techno. Nothing like the latest essential mix really.
